Draisaitl,McLeod,Foegele,broberg,draft picks, and 500k for Crosby and Guentzel would be one heck of the trade if you were to pull it off. Would be good for Pittsburg in a way considering Crosby retiring in the next couple years. This would make the oilers a beast in the playoffs. Guentzel, Mcdavid, RNH, Hyman, Crosby, Kane, and Perry.
Sorry, no go. Guentzel would be a loaner, being a UFA. Your window to the Cup isn’t just this year, but also next season. You need a usable forward who will thrive by playing on either of the top 2 lines. Whatever happened to analytics? Everyone talks about it and when it comes to trade deadline, only the proven, overpriced players are mentioned. Broberg, by all counts, is going to be a decent defender. He won’t be expensive for a few years and the Oilers need all the cap space available for next season (hello Draisaitl contract). You can’t give away the farm for a rental.

I have less issue with the reported cost in assets and want to know are they doing 50% retention with a 3rd club retaining 25%
Cap considerations mean you need a third team involved, which means someone like Foegle plus another pick. So in total: Broberg, Foegle, 1st, 3rd, plus 4th to make it work.

Next yr is the big year to go for it. With our cap space and what people are asking I say no don't do it. Remember when all the experts were saying to trade boucher at the deadline? where would we be without him. deshernais coming up, we need to sign him. we have no up n coming prospects other then broberg who has yet to really prove he can do it in the bigs. Sometimes the best move is no move, besides our biggest need is still a depth d-man. The juice is not worth the squeeze.
Foegele, Holloway, and broberg is basically all we got for him and I don’t think they are gonna accept that offer.
I wouldn't move Holloway or Broberg for Guentzel but if forced to choose it's Holloway before Broberg. It's a lot easier to get top forwards than top D. Broberg may be our Ekholm replacement when the time comes. It took the Oilers years to replace Klefbom and now they are going to throw away Broberg, that is foolish. Oilers management have to boil the ocean to find the right fit and be patient. The Ekholm approach.

First of all , Guentzels not even available as of right now . Second , Brobergs not going anymore ( from Holland's mouth ) . Third , that's a gross price for 2-3 months of Guentzel , he's not resigning anywhere especially in Canada for under $9 mill and Oilers can't afford that . Fantasize all you want , not happening !
