I’ve seen someone mention that the majority of his points are coming from assists, not goals. At first I got less excited but I’m starting to see the bigger picture.
What we potentially have is a strong two way center with good playmaking abilities, the type of player that’s going to elevate the play of his wingers. So many high skill level wingers struggle to drive play on their own that this is the necessary piece to the puzzle. This kids gonna be another Larkin, the 1b we’ve needed. Add in a 3c with Marco and this teams gonna be good!

He HAD to be the guy for stretches in Brandon when they needed goals, even seemed like he was the only one who could score at times (same could’ve been said at the WJC for Canada)
Now on a better team where the offense isn’t as heavily on his shoulders he can defer to and set up teammates and as we’ve seen still flash that finishing ability when needed
He’s becoming a more versatile player who can beat you in more ways than one
