Who is the Canucks MVP so far this season?

TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins SC with Jay Onrait to give his thoughts on Connor McDavid’s dominant six assist game, Morgan Rielly’s five-game suspension, Bobby McMann playing the role of the unsung hero in the Leafs’ win, who the Canucks MVP is so far this season, Phil Kessel working out with the Canucks, and much more.

  1. It just seems like an extremely well built team.
    Goalie: arguably best in league
    Defenseman: Best in the league
Forwards: 3 in top scoring stats (G,A,PTS)
    Coach: Jack Adam's winner
Management: Newly signed and fans are happy about it (where does anyone like their Management).

Doing everything possible through trades and now free agents in Kessel. Haven't lost 3 games in a row (crazy), every road trip is 6-1-1 or 3-1-1, 6 all stars (insanely crazy in this setup), best 3rd line in the league, and the ability to win offensively or defensively on any given night.

  2. As great as Sidney Crosby's career has been and as slowed down by injuries, particularly concussions, as it has been, Connor McDavid is the Gretzky of his era. In the 80s, with the exception of Mario, Wayne would regularly run away with the Art Ross. He didn't just win. He ran away with the award on a yearly basis. McDavid has been doing that. And for much of his career, he's done it without people the calibre of Jari Kurri, Glenn Anderson and others on his wings. Nobody has been this dominant (aside from this season) in terms of points since the Great One in the 80s.

  3. Hughes ability to dictate the flow of the game, skating ability to make room for himself or create opennings for his team is honestly on another level. His offence side is growing as well already carrer high in goals

Also with kessel, this roster lacks one very important thing. Playoff experience. Phil could fix some of that

  4. As soon as I saw this video, I clicked on it instantly because I won't accept any other answer than Quinn Hughes. Taking over the captaincy, elevating his game to new heights, sometimes playing ridiculous minutes and never running out of gas. He's been the catalyst for the Canucks all season long.

  5. Title of video: Who is the Canucks MVP? No mention of the Canucks until 5 minutes into the 8 minute video. But they did manage to talk about the Leafs for almost 5 minutes…
