[Mercogliano] Won’t be Othmann coming in the lineup… at least not for now. Looks like either Belzile or Rempe slots in on the 4th line, with Vesey moving up to 1RW.

  1. Would much rather this and a trade vs rushing in Othmann

  2. I wonder why Vince definitely thinks Vesey is going to stay in rw1 when it realistically could be him, kakko or cuylle. I hope he’s correct though as it would not be wise to break up the 3rd now.

And if it doesn’t get broken up, you have to assume that they are fully planning on keeping it in tact post deadline which means no dumb overpay for a 3c or sending out kakko for a rental.

Usually super against just slotting 4th line guys into the top line, but I think Vesey deserves a shot up there. He’s flashed his skills a ton this year.

Kakko for a rental is asset mismanagement at its finest.

I don’t know how long the list of players who made their NHL debut in an outdoor game is but pls add Rempe to that list

The sick individual is versatile af. I am glad we have him.

Vesey is what we all wished Goodrow was to the team. Well deserved you sick individual.

Dread it, run from it. Vesey on the first line is inevitable.

    AH I HATE IT

Vesey on the 1st line probably isn’t a downgrade from Wheeler and may honestly be an improvement.

But a 4th line of Belzile/Rempe – Goodrow – Edstrom is pretty not great and should be sheltered as much as possible.

Glad to see Vesey get a shot at the top. He’s earned it this year without a doubt.

Would much rather this than rushing Othmann or breaking up the 3rd line. Vesey at this point is honestly way better than Wheeler and has years of chemistry with Mika and Kreids. He isn’t a long term solution; but it’s a fine placeholder till they trade for a RW
