The Toronto Maple Leafs are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Paul Giordano, father of defenceman Mark Giordano, on Thursday night. Our prayers are with Mark and his family during this incredibly difficult time and we ask for their privacy.

   I lost my father to cancer back in 2021. I’ll never get over it. Sometimes I’m still in denial that he’s gone. My condolences to the Giordano family.

    I’m sure coming home to Toronto the last couple years and spending time close to his family means even more to Gio now.

    Hopefully we can get him a cup this year.
