Slafkovsky is the only 6'0+ NHLer in the 22 draft class. The fact he also has the most games played, points and has so much potential shows he's the true #1 pick.

I think we get a much better asset by brokering a deal than trading Allen. We should get a 2nd rnd pick by brokering a Guentzel trade. Allen, even if we retain 50%, will only get us a 5th rnd pick. These other teams know how terrible he’s been this year and they also know how desperate we are to get him off the roster.. long story short, we may have to hold on to Allen till the summer cuz another second rnd pick sure could come in handy when trade talks start around draft time

Habs arent going to get Guentzel. IMO hes one of the most overrated player in the entire league. Sure he has production, but he is playing with Crosby and Malkin most of the time. Its like Drouin with MacKinnon and Ranta. Guentzel would most likely end up wanting a 6m+ contract with the habs and would score very little. Plus hes 29 year old, doesnt fit with the young group. When we are going to be contender, hes going to be on the downfall. They are 150 time better to look for young guys with potential, develop them to be decent player, and in 2-3 years, maybe trade for some really high value UFA before the playoff.

1st line? Chill the hype…2 weeks of great chemistry, fun but, Jeff G. has a prestige NHL job here, closer to New England as well. Allen needs to go asap.
The Habs need to move a goalie. The rest of the NHL knows this. I hope they move soon or they could end up with three goalies. And if you cant move one now, when will you be able to move one?
