NY Rangers Eye Trade for Flyers’ Scott Laughton: Insights & Rumors
I hate these bait articles and websites, but with Blake Wheeler now out until the playoffs, this may actually be a great fit. Kakko and a 3rd back would be quite nice for us
Is there any chance in hell they give up on Kakko for a Scott Laughton rental? That seems like a lot to give up.
Edit: Laughton’s not a rental. Was informed below. Thanks for the correction yall.

Kakko is dreamland tbh. Give us your first Rags and we’ll call it quits.

No fucking chance. Plus, Laughton to NY would be infuriating unless we absolutely crush the trade.

Isn’t Dolan insisting they keep their 1st because the draft is at The Sphere?

No. NO.

I think people in this thread are wildly overestimating Kakko. He is in his 5th NHL season on pace for less than 25 points while playing on one of the better teams in the NHL. Take away his draft pedigree and it becomes incredibly hard to argue that his value is much higher than a late 1st at this point

I would do that trade in a heartbeat

Something along the lines of Jake Leschyshyn and a 3rd is probably more accurate.
As for “helping the enemy,” NYR is competing now, we’re in a rebuild looking ahead 2 or so years. We really shouldn’t care right now about trading within the division, and Laughton will be a free agent by then anyway.

I cant believe Im saying this, but I would rather roll the dice on the rags 1st than get kakko. Dude does not look like he has the juice on a damn good rangers team. And we have plenty of wingers up and down the organization

How many young right wingers does this org need unless we can convert Kakko into a center??

Sarge is an integral part of the chemistry and character to this team. The core four of Coots, Konecny, Sanheim, and Laughton, is the veteran backbone who knows how to play in this city. This would suck tremendously if they traded him.

We have all the leverage here, I don’t see why we’d give him to a division rival unless the haul is absurd. Kakko ain’t that good and I don’t want murderface to help them get a cup – especially if we play the rangers in the offseason

I doubt we trade with the rangers at all. Not impossible but doubtful.

Fuck off with this

I want Kakko. I think he needs a chance of scenery and a coach like torts to work his game. I still believe in his talent

How many middle six forwards do you guys want? There is no point to trading Laughton unless you are going to get a chance to find better talent for the future. I doubt they would trade Perreault (if he would even sign in Philly with the BC/Quitter connection) so it would need to include a 1st. If their 1st isn’t in the deal, I’d rather take a chance on Brennan Othmann and a 2nd instead.

I would definitely trade Laughton for Kaapo Kakko. If it were still 2019.

What’s the biggest way to absolutely screw the Rangers

This is nothing but garbage speculation of the absolute worst kind.

People in this thread think way too highly of Laughton

Do they have any stud center prospects? I’d rather take back a good young center than kakko
