  1. Vegas is bulking up, Winnipeg is bulking up, Nashville is bulking up, Columbus went all in. Should be good hockey come playoffs.

  2. man i don't even know if i can cheer for my favourite team anymore its been so frustrating im getting close to giving up entirely. we have two AHL teams now and our best scorer is 14 goals

  3. Karlsson is up next year, he isn't getting the payday he wants, cap space maybe not a huge deal after that happens

  4. Holy shit you blew up since I watched you last, 76k subs!? Congrats man, also Stone is legit one of the best 2-way forwards in the league, he’s worth the 9.5 and more imo, gotta feel bad for sens fans now, they had a good core before they traded it all away

  5. Remember when you said everyone was helping Blackhawks at one point?

Yeah. It seems like everyone is helping Vegas now. Yeah no prospects but they have some quality that may get them through the west. Its wide open and they got some good talent in that pacific. And lets face it AZ leaves in 2020/2021 perhaps? They are going to join the central eventually and thats when Vegas might need to start selling and collecting prospects and draft picks. Right now they are looking really good for at least this year.

  6. I think it’s general knowledge now to give the worst GM award to Pierre Dorian. Only the legend Mike Milbury can compete with him(thanks again for Luuuuu Mike).

  7. I honestly thought that the Rangers were gonna be at the bottom of the barrel in the entire league this season…Not happening thanks to Lunqvist still saving some games plus Zibanejad and Kreider breaking out offensively. (Zibanejad proving #1 center status) But holy cow 🐄 have these Senators tanked it, I don’t get how you lose a generational/franchise offensive defenseman and then you lose your best center AND right winger…OTTAWA THOSE ARE THE 3 PLAYERS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BUILD THE TEAM AROUND now they literally have nothing at all to build around.

  8. I'm so happy as a Sens fan because we got the next Erik Karlsson.., Not like we didn't actually have Erik Karlsson.

If only we didn't have bad ownership

  9. Ottawa remains a small and savy hockey market that is hard to sell to during a period of self-serving and imposed austerity by team owner. I think the writing is on the wall for that franchise. Future prosperity resides southerly within just a few hundred miles.

  10. Apparently the Islanders made a significant attempt to get Stone for Beauvilier and a 1st, but Stone didn’t commit to sign, the AAV offered was too low

  11. It's not that Mcphee is mortgaging too much future, it's that is he targeting the right players? Picks for Tatar, a 2nd liner. Top prospect for Pacioretty, a declining player. Top dman prospect in hockey for Mark Stone, whose skating has always been in question at a time the league is getting faster every year. When you give up assets like those, you should be targeting sure thing elite franchise players. Matt Duchene, at least, since at least you know he will be able to skate well enough to be a top 6 player for the duration of his contract even as the NHL gets faster. With Stone you don't know. Mcphee also signed Stastny to big $ and he's not a great skater either. The VGK first spectacular season was built on speed.

So giving up a lot of assets and cap space is one thing if you get back sure thing elite players for it. But to do it for 2nd and 3rd liners is a huge mistake. Maybe Stone is more than that, he's certainly produced like more than that, so maybe this is the exception, but he doesn't really jump off the screen when you watch him play. When giving up prospects like Brannstrom, you should be getting a player back who jumps off the screen.

  12. I just think that 9,5 million is a bit too much🙈 If Stone wanted that badly out from Ottawa ge would have agreed to a 8,5 million contract. It is all about clearing that cap space.

  13. Good luck to stone! Loved him in Ottawa! But PD did a amazing job landing Brannstrom! I’m very happy with this deal. Also I think PD did a fantastic job with Duchene & Dzingel. I never wanted Duchene a 2nd line centre (imo) for 64million x8 yrs. way too much. As for Dzingel, highly overrated imo don’t forget ppl this is a contract year for him I don’t see him putting up these totals again, and he was asking for 5.5 mill again that’s too much for me. Stone definitely hurts me he is ELITE no doubt, but to get Brannstrom back is gold to me. Brannstrom, chabot, tkachuk, white, brown, batherson, chlapik, gustavson, Bernard docker, tychonik sounds like the best group of prospects in the NHL. Now will we pay them??? We’ll see? But that’s a fantastic future imo.

  14. As someone who's lived in ottawa my whole life. There was maybe 1%chance any of them stayed on Ottawa. The worst ownership by far in the nhl and the fans/city definately arent up to par.

  15. I hope it’s not a Tatar situation but I would be lying if I didn’t have that feeling.

On the other hand I can’t complain that with this trade we have a new points leader 😂

  16. San Jose seems overhyped for what they'll inevitably do: falter and choke in the playoffs. Our team may have been having problems, but Vegas will be crushing opponents in the playoffs and hopefully getting to the Western Conference Finals. GO KNIGHTS GO!

  17. Brännström will probably turn out quite well. He played with Dahlin during the junior Worlds .. Dahlin can make any pairing look good though .. but the interesting thing is that Brännström had other pairings as well .. and he too made the other guy look good.

Don't know or can't estimate the upper ceiling .. but I think Brännström will eventually turn out to be a stellar second line defenceman.

  18. My god this is going to be a long 2-5 years… I hope melnyk becomes bankrupt and is forced to sell the team and an actual owner with a heart buys the team

  19. I think Stone saw that Ottawa was some seasons away from being remotely competitive and he doesn't want to waste his prime years in the league. Do you blame him? It is strange that Vegas isn't trying to get young. Hopefully some prospects like Duke and Hague will step up next year for them. Maybe after getting Stone they will start focusing on drafting and developing key players. Looking at the Wolves roster they seem to have more defense prospects that may pan out than forwards. Should be interesting nonetheless!

  20. NHL contracts are getting pretty ridiculous. Ten years ago $9.5M average annual contracts were reserved for 50 goal season superstars, today they are given to mediocre to slightly above average players. No wonder the common everyday fan can no longer afford to buy a decent ticket to an NHL game.

  21. Brannstrom has elite potential, it might look bad now but later on if he reaches his potential the sens will also be winners.
