  1. Happy to see Tanev here next season….for less than 3m that is. I sure wouldn't use that first to get him though. That first pick, plus additional pieces has to be used to get a multiple player trade.
Something like Vatrano and Lyubushkin, Laughton, Walker and Seeler maybe…
The goal would be to add players in the 2-3m range for next seasons cap in mind.
Ferraro and Duclair…. Donato and Tinordi would be cheaper options with a more agreeable trade partner than dealing with Calgary….who considering last year's debacle seem intent on holding all to ransom this year.

  2. A first round pick for a rental would be absolutely insane! Get real! A long term top four starting D-man might do the trick, but a rental is just about the dumbest thing they could do…

  3. Great video KC am sticking with mo more rental players loving the way Easton Cowan playing great pick for us GO LEAFS GO

  4. Leafs have played the rental game for the last several seasons and have lost terribly. Might as well buy scratch and win tickets.
The biggest sign of trouble is that their GM is now in search of a physical, defensive d-man but in the off-season signed Klingberg. WTF?? They could have signed Dumba then and that would have been a more appropriate fit. Now they want to trade prospects for him?? As for Tanev — this has dragged on enough. Obviously Calgary want a premium price because they are holding a grudge towards their former GM. Toronto shouldn't be paying a penalty to appease their hurt feelings. Time to look elsewhere.

  5. I honestly think leafs will do nothing absolutely nothing and tbh probably the best decision because they have emptied the first rounders and none worked out , the team this year looks worse then last years so why trade away future assets for a team that most likely wont make it past round 1, im a leafs fan through n through so i hopeeeeee they turn up !!! And absolutely crush it in playoffs if we make it there !

  6. Cgy and Tor trade won’t happen, to many moving parts. If Tanev hits the free market, I believe he’ll sign in Ottawa, they’re going to pay him. I rather Cgy sends him to Van for a second and a prospect

  7. Big Fan of Cowan .I admit I kind of gave up on him with the world jrs but he's showing his worth as an individual talent.Leafs need a defender indeed . I think the bottom 6 has enough offence to do well good show KC !!!

  8. I'd feel better if the leafs had
    Rielly Tanev
    Benoit Oleksiak
    McCabe Lyubushkin

That would cost a mere 2m more if Brodie, Liljegren, Kämpf, Robertson + picks went the other way and Giordano Timmins as our 7/8

  9. Shanahan more then likely wont approve any moves unless its for a 3rd or 4th liner. Thats it. The pick pool just isnt deep to keep giving them away. Stay status quo!!!

  10. tanev is a brodie clone , block shots but doesn't hit. if he's going to project to be a 3rd or 4th d, he better hit at that position. macabe and benoit are better than tanev at this point of his career. both macabe and benot will block shots and hit regularly. leafs main problem is there goaltending.

  11. What’s the point at this stage of the season? Besides the Leafs seem to be jelling nicely despite Treliving, not because of him. If Treliving’s history is any indicator of the type of talent he will add to the Leafs. The impact on the Leafs of that talent will be mediocre at best and hardly worth a first round pick and/or the roster player it will cost.

  12. Toronto will have to do something. No way Toronto sits back and lets Edmonton or Vancouver, Winnipeg get the Stanley Cup that hasn’t touched Canadian soil in ages
