Glad the fans heckled him. It appears he got the hint. Season ticket holder since the 80s, Fedora man is a stud!!

Fucking great news! Honestly, if I was sitting there, I would have personally gone down and asked the ushers to allow me to get the hat back for the man. Who throws someone else’s hat, especially when you don’t know how significant and sentimental that hat would be to someone.

Hat returned. Balance restored in the universe.

Thank you; that video was upsetting and this makes me happy.

Isn’t the guy who threw it autistic? Not saying he’s not in the wrong ofc.

I can’t beleive how much people gatekeep throwing hats. I was at last thursday game sitting in the 300’s so didn’t even think of throwing my hat as it would never make it to the ice. Some neck beard heckled me when I was in the parking garage.

Hope that fat fuck that threw the hat had a terrible weekend
BloodBatman
Glad to hear the Leafs staff were on top of it and got him his hat back. Also glad to hear the guy who threw his hat either didn’t return (or probably more likely) got kicked out

This isn’t going to be a popular opinion.
I’ve been seeing the video get posted around and around the internet and it’s made me wonder if people know that for about the last hundred or so years of hockey history, if a player scored a hat trick and you kept your hat on, someone was going to take it off you and throw it on the ice for you. Has this changed? I feel like most people just hate the guy who did it more than what he did. I’ve seen so much vitriol about this guy being fat. I think people’s reactions to this whole thing is not in line with what he did. People are acting like he committed a crime.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not wearing a nice hat to a Leafs game while Matthews is on a heater.

Glad this is all over and resolved. Now let’s forget about this and move on, no need to do any personal speculation.

Is there a video of the incident or the two conversing after the hat was thrown?
Arinoch
Literally showed that video to my son not five minutes ago as a “don’t be a dick” reminder. Glad I can share the good news. Also: season ticket holder since the 80s? Respect.

Will this story be good enough to be made into a YouTube short?

Wow, I didn’t expect I would be so happy to read this and yet here I am. Happy to see that sometimes things just work out as they should.

Is no one else getting the vibe that the guy who threw the hat is special needs?
