Understand your comments on Maata but he is generally a solid D-man in consideration of his usage, meaning the coaches are helping out his game. Interesting point of note was Maata only being on the ice in OT because of his penalty expiring, it is notable that Chariot and Petry wouldn't have been out there either if not for the PK situation. Credit to the coaching staff to come out with Chariot and Petry (Seider and Walman had just got off the ice) in a circumstance where a defensive tilt was needed.

That late 3rd period penalty on Matta, sure I know they have to call it, but I’m getting so tired of guys selling that. They turn into the boards and if they feel any sort of push, they go yard sale and collapse against the glass. It’s ironic, Matta pushed him much harder when he was in front of then net on his goal but didn’t hardly budge. 🤔 No problem staying upright when trying to score. But collapses like a cheap tent after turning into the boards.
What’s becoming common is player stops up against the boards, turns at the last second before any contact is made and goes yard sale and collapses face down. Then pops up after selling the call and is out there for the PP. These younger players don’t just take the hit anymore.
Brian loves his analytics. Unfortunately, (in hockey anyways), they aren’t reliable and can be misleading. A lot is left up to whoever tally’s those numbers and can be subjective. I think the extremes are worth paying attention to and may hold some weight, but as Brian Burke says “a guy blocks a shot with his shin pads in a 6-0 game and another guy dives teeth first into a shot in a 2-2 game both count as 1 blocked shot”.
Patrick Kane has 9 goals, Moritz Seider has 7 goals, Shayne Gostisbehere has 7 goals. The Red Wings currently have 11 10+ goal scores. Will they get to 14 10+ goal scorers by the end of the season?
The guy made a good deak on Lyon, he still managed to almost made an amazing save!
How are you going to open the show with an incorrect stat? This is the 2nd time the wings have beaten the kraken. The first ever matchup we beat them in a shootout.

I think Fischer deserves some more minutes. He’s got an underrated shot, good speed and passing ability and has that dog in him. The guy back checks as hard as he forechecks. Can play wing or center in a pinch. Physical presence.
He currently gets 10:00/game and good chunk of that is on the PK. Not saying he should be a permanent on the top line, but imo, he’d be no worse than Rasmussen on it.
