All right everyone welcome back so we continue on our 2024 trade deadline previews with the Buffalo Sabers so um Buffalo yet again another year of just probably going to miss the playoffs it’s really unfortunate I feel like I say these things every damn year since I started doing these in

2020 um but yeah Buffalo they’re just a team that they’re selling again and I don’t know what it is this year as of today they are 24 26 and 4 for 52 points they are sixth overall in the Atlantic division now I will say this it’s gotten

Better over the last couple of years it has but it’s still the same damn stuff with Buffalo just selling the trade deadline yet again this season and it looks like there may be some guys who were drafted originally that were looked at to be you know the saviors of this

Franchise um and give them back to the playoffs well now they’re going to get traded most likely uh currently they have eight8 million in projected c space so they still have some decent amount of cap room not really sure what good that will do to them but hey they have cap space

So that’s something to keep in mind um their ufas and rfas we’re just going to get straight into it here because honestly I don’t want to spend all this time talking about how Buffalo just hasn’t been there because it’s the same stuff every single season and I don’t

Want to I don’t want buffalo fans to just get tired of me saying it even though they were tired of hearing it um their ufas and rfas Victor olafson Z Miss gurgenson kyok poso Eric Robinson um Eric Johnson and Tyson J are your current unrestricted free agents um Olaf

Has been on the trade market I expect for him to uh try and move him I’m not sure if he will get moved but they will definitely try uh to move olafs in gurgenson as well uh definitely a guy that probably won’t get moved he’ll probably stay until the end of the

Season ooso same thing he’s your captain not really too sure um not really too sure anyways who would really want him there is no no backup behind that Robinson fourth liner uh Eric Johnson I don’t think will be wanted either and then Tyson Jose the younger player maybe

Will get traded but probably not um just another guy there that is um in for the ride with the Buffalo Sabers overall uh your restricted free agents as of right now are Casey midat Payton kevs hry Yoki Haru uh Jacob Bryson Echo Eko uko peka luonan sorry and then he got Chase

Stillman too so um uh middle stat has said that he wants to stay in Buffalo and he would um um it looks like they’re probably going to trade him though just from just from looking at it um there is a chance that he may not get moved but

It looks like he’s probably going to get traded so I would expect for that to happen um pretty soon uh we are moving into about two weeks away from the trade deadline uh it’s actually going to be a week uh this coming Friday so definitely

Um or no two weeks sorry uh this coming Friday so definitely you you look at that and say yeah uh middle stat may get moved uh Krab’s another younger player I haven’t seen a market there out there for him um he might get traded but he’s probably there to stay in Buffalo uh

Yoki Haru I haven’t seen anything in regards to him neither with Bryson uh Li Conan might but I don’t I don’t feel like they would because Li Conan’s been good been pretty solid recently it looks it looks like he’s kind of coming into his own so I would expect for him to

Stay but we’ll find out uh and then Stillman to I haven’t heard anything with him maybe he gets traded for like a seventh round pick that’d be some kind of move there um but yeah what are your needs of your Buffalo um Defense number one thing is defense you also would

Probably want Picks and Prospects because that’s what it’s been for the last couple of years um the defense is the only issue I see with this team the offense seems to be all right I mean like honestly that’s what I thought heading into the season um but now obviously you know there’s obviously

Other things they need to work on and the go tening hasn’t been what we thought it was going to be Levi hasn’t been the player that we thought he was going to be which if you asked me that at the beginning of the year I wouldn’t I would not have been surprised because

A guy like Levi out of a very small sample is not going to become an elite goalie right away I’m sorry I’ve said it in a lot of my saers videos but he just wasn’t going to become an elite goalie right away that’s just that’s just what

We had to accept and just you know like the defense isn’t really all too great um Eric Johnson I didn’t think was a great move when they acquired him neither was Conor Clifton um but that is something they need to work on it’s a pretty young Blue Line

Too when you look at it guys like Johnson coming up into the system not Eric Johnson but the other Johnson uh that was drafted a few years ago and then they got power and um Dalene who are other younger defenseman um who may be experienced later on but they’re

Still younger defenseman so obviously that plays a role but I feel like they’re closer than they were in previous years but still they’re not a playoff team just yet you you just look at it they aren’t uh what are your removable pieces if you’re the the Buffalo Sabers well there’s Casey

Middlestead as I mentioned uh there’s Victor OLS and I have Tyson Joe rning on there and then UK peka luonan as well with a question mark um I don’t think Liona gets moved there’s a chance but I really don’t think so uh middlestead I think probably does uh it’s unfortunate

But he probably does get traded for like maybe a rental move and then Olaf’s in there too um I think that if he doesn’t get traded he will walk at the free agency market there looks like there’s been talks that he doesn’t that he hasn’t been all too great recently and
