I generally don’t like comparing athletes from different sports but it’s hard to argue against Gretzky being the goat if you are comparing them anyways. He has the most dominant record of any sports player of all time.
Tiger Woods? Big maybe.
I think every other sport has multiple players that you could argue is the goat, but hockey? I don’t know man. We’re going to be waiting a long time to see if someone better plays or is currently playing. Sure, Ovi is coming close to that all time goals record but I don’t think 99s all time points record can (or ever will) be beaten.

If Gretzky scored 0 goals in his career he’d still be the NHL all time leader in points just on assists alone. There has been no athlete in their prime that dominated their sport like 99.

Gretzky is the goat of goats but messi should be atleast in the conversation. His numbers are astronomical in terms of what you can achieve in football. If ronaldo didnt exist he would be ahead of every other footballer gretzky style. Even with ronaldo existing hes still the clear number one.
