With the acquisition of Jason Dickinson from the Dallas Stars, the Canucks protected list seems to be set with Dickinson taking the last forward spot. That would leave Kole Lind and Matthew Highmore unprotected for the Seattle Kraken expansion draft.

Makes sense. Gadjovich has legit upside for the Canucks as a middle 6 power forward and PP net front presence. You can’t give that up for nothing and based on Lind’s trial run, he didn’t demonstrate either offensive, defensive or face off potential. Jonah at worst is a 3rd/4th line gritty winger with a scoring touch, especially if his skating continues to improve. He’s a bigger, grittier Motte at the very least. And if he makes the team next year, he’ll play for virtual peanuts. Perfect. Between him, Motte, Podkolzin, Dickinson, MacEwan and Beagle, that’s 5 out of the bottom 6 spots down at a reasonable cap hit overall. Lockwood, Roussel and/or someone they pick up for Virtanen can duke it out for the final bottom 6 winger spot. That doesn’t sound so bad, especially if they can swing a deal involving Schmidt for an NHL ready d-man. Maybe move up in the draft and pick one up for nothing, if possible. That would make sense. A deal where the Canucks give up Schmidt and Virtanen and if necessary their 1st or 2nd for a young, reasonably priced impact roster player AND a higher 1st rounder, preferably top 3-5. Obviously with Jake’s recent problems, trading him won’t be easy, but it’s not impossible. Just the cap relief would be nice.

AMA- do you like it when the Canucks make a trade with a team in their (regular) division? I'm against making trades with teams in your division! My knee jerk reaction of the Sharks-Coyotes trade was one of those players could come back to haunt his former team! But then I remembered that the Coyotes will be in a different division next year!
AMA: Carrie price waived his no movement clause for the Seattle expansion draft do you think Seattle takes him or is his contract too much? Also, including free agency and any trades the canucks could make between now and the start of the regular season who do you realistically see as The Canucks top six Defenceman next season. Also if we lose Braden Holtby be to Seattle who do we get to replace him or is it Michael DiPietro?

I think putting Lind up is a mistake I would of exposed Schmit

Should have traded 9th overall, Cole Lind and a 3rd/2nd rounder for 3rd overall.
I think kole lind will be exposed and taken and kraken trade futures to Vancouver for a lousy contract

So, what do you think about trading the 9th pick to get a top six forward at a big dollar cap hit when they could have signed Tofoli last year and thus would have had a solid top six and a draft choice this year?
