3.2 is nowhere near overpayment for what he provides. he is the leader on a very good shutdown line. he is a very valuable pk guy. even if he gets consistently 30ish points its still a very ok contract.
Yikes, thats a great deal. Ras should be our #3, instead for some reason SY paid 2 #3's(Copp and JT) double that amount. Lol I just don't understand what Stevie is doing with our bottom C's and bottom D's. It's like he's throwing sheet on the wall and seeing what sticks. As far as what's Raymond worth, nothing more than $6M per. He has some skill but has NO INTANGIBLES. He reminds me of a rich mans Tomas Tatar lol.
Rasmussen is ah guy your not paying for point totals per say, sure he can net ya some points but your paying him cause he's a swiss army knife, you manily want him bottom 6 but in some situations you can slot him top line if you need a net crasher or someone to bully other players, hes like Kostin and Fish combined and im all for it
Compared to what we paid Abby a few years ago and for what's essentially the same player … I'm thrilled with this.
Great signing for a guy who grinds it out every shift.
How does AFP Analytics get their comparables when the first four players don't play for those teams anymore… Bouma's not even in the NHL… WHAT YEAR IS THAT DATA???
At least they hit on the Jarnkrok and Appleton AAV
I like it, I was thinking he was going to sign for 3 years/3 mil cap hit. About where I had at, a tad bit more, but an additional year. Glad to get it done, got three RFA's left (four if Berggren is included), not to mention what UFA's we are going to sign. The big one being Kane, what is it going to cost to keep him?
Honestly I would be hard pressed to say it could have been better. Under 3 mil. Probably not. I think it’s a lucky signing. If he only gets 25 points next year but throws his body around on the 3rd line it’s still reasonable
The more I hear from the advanced analytics crowd the more I think they’re all full of crap
My to sign list with term, and what I would like to pay them, Kane 2 years 4.5-5 mil, sprong 2 years 2.5 mil, veleno 2 years 2 mil, Raymond 8 years 7.5 mil, seider 8 years 8.5 mil, let perron, ghost, and Fischer walk and hope to have bergren, Simon, and mazur take those spots, don't extend fabri or kostin let Danielson and Kasper grow into those roster spots, potential buyouts for hull, copp and petry
OMG I always thought Rasmussen was a Swedish National… now I understand why he brings it every game. Who knew?
When you consider the rise in the salary cap, plus his performance, I'd say it's decent value.
I believe it's a good signing, especially for a young big strong guy. He's only gonna get better and better. I wouldn't want to lose him.
Ras has also been playing on the top line recently and has looked really good. As I a wings fan I was okay with him walking at the beginning of the season but am very happy with this signing now
he's very good in the corners tho. boad play is getting better too. his – + is best on team also
I read "Singing" and was expecting a song from Steve.
He went to a skating coach about his 2nd year. Greatly increased his first step and creating more space for himself.
you hit the nail on the head pointing out the bargain he has been since they brought him up. He isn't Gretzky, but he's as big as Lemieux. IMO he is worth the cashola. I'm not exactly sure what will put the wings up there with the big boys, but I like what the lions are doing. If Stevie can motivate his club like Dan Campbell is able to, we're in business.
Its been fun watching Ras take small steps in his development over the past few years. I wouldnt be surprised if hes signing a much bigger contract 4 years from now.
