Calgary already made a trade with Vancouver so in light of that why do you say it doesn’t make sense for them to trade with Edmonton? Your objection must be something other than just being divisional rivals. Just curious what your reasoning is if you don’t mind me asking?
I heard that Rasmus Anderson from Calgary might be available if he is, then Ken Holland should inquire. He's a 27 yr old rhd with 2 years left on a 4.5 million per year contract & who is rated very high #28 according to NHL central ratings. So a 1st rnd pick & Cody Ceci & possibly rhd prospect Beau Akey. So very much like the price paid for Ekholm. As some one who watches the Flames on occasion Anderson is a upgrade & a 1st pairing rhd that we desperately need.
People saying trading our 1st for Tanev is too much don’t know hockey. Look at the lack of dman on the trade market and defensive ones for that matter. Defence is exactly what we need and Tanev is the perfect guy, actually plays defence and gives it 100% on every shift. We need more guys blocking shots Tanev is one of the best at it, add some gritt to that he’s the perfect defensemen for oil. Also I think frank vatrano should be one of the oilers targets.
Right. Agree. A second for Tanev. Why not trade with Calgary? Who cares? Different league these days. Battle of Alberta not what is used to be. Anyhow, Vancouver is the enemy. And Vegas. I could go for Henrique too. Oilers only will go as far as defensive play will take them. Played great defense during the winning streak. Thought I was seeing a different team dressed up as the Oilers. PK sucks lately. Ideally, add at every position. And let's not get too gleeful over beating Arizona. They were pushing hard against us the first two periods. They have some good players. Matt Dumba was noticeable. He might make a good depth piece. Plays with an edge. In the end, whatever we think will happen, or want to happen, probably won't happen. Oilers will do something for sure, but maybe that something will be a total, off-the-radar shock. Some of these names being thrown around might just be posturing, testing the waters so to speak.
Why Tanev? Because Brogberg wants to leave? Maybe Adam Henrique, our 3rd line needs a center. McCleod is better as a winger, he can't lead a line , same goes for Nugent Hopkins
Watching & listening to the Sharks & Knights game yesterday there is a connection between Ferraro & Paul Coffey. Apparently Paul coached him as kid. Still the Oilers dont need another left shot defenseman with Broberg needing a shot.
If any one of our d-men gets injured what happens then? Broberg? Niemalainen? We have ZERO D depth. Think playoffs. A first round pick for tanev is much better than what dubis proposed for geuntzel. We are in win this year mode. First round picks are what you trade.

I would really like to see what it would take to get John Kovacevic from Montreal. Right age, size, positive +/- playing 2/3 line minutes on a middling team. Personally not seeing a great fit with either Walker or Tanev.

Sean Walker plus minus is horrific. Please God don't let Oilers acquire him. Chris Tanev is way better.

Tanev is getting old, but he is a defenseman which Oilers need desperately. Maybe he is good for 1 year. Trade him for our 1st round pick.
Ferraro is -79. He is horrible.
Adam Henrique is horrible plus he is 34 yrs old and -22. He will only get worse.
