Love my penguins but man this is awful the core isn't getting younger.
I think dubas thought they would be buyers at this time. Ranked 7th in their division, 12th in the conference and 24th in the league. Even if they did somehow get into the playoffs, they will not win a series. Right now, if the draft rank was worst to first, they draft 9th. Why not sell and ensure they get a top 10 pick? Then get a late 1st round pick for Jake so they could have 2 first rounders this year. But there is no reasonable explanation why they traded for EK and then changed his role on the PP.
In a perfect world, for me anyway…
1. Trade Jake as much as that hurts me. Get a good return.
2. Trade rakell
3. Trade ek65. Find a way.
4. Trade smith.

Dubas needs to sell Sullivan and Rierden. Any penguins fan who thinks we can win with a stale message and a mismatch of sully lines of his friends, over what is needed to get the best response out of the players isn’t being honest about where the team is.
It doesn't matter which players we have as long as we continue to keep this coaching staff. How many times do we need to swap out every player around Sig, Geno, and Tanger for people to realize this? It's so incredibly obvious.

the core for me is: Crosby, Malkin, (Guentzel), Letang, Karlsson, Pettersson, Jarry.
"trying to unlock that level"????? just more of Sullivan's BS.
Would rather see Geno traded and keep Guentzel. Geno is showing his age and can't seem to adapt like Sid. Also the Pens need a starting goalie that, on average, either gives up 1 goal or 7. depends on the game.

Nobody said anything about being sellers other than you. What he said was they were listening. Big difference. Youre inferring that theres going to be a big fire sale and that team has no interest on improving this season.
Core? WTH does that mean! Movable contracts is the only thing that matters. Salary and clauses is the only thing that matters right now. Can't retain any type of salary, when we are trying to build for one more big run at the cup. Signing Malkin was the biggest mistake. There's nothing there after Sid and Geno leave. Jake and Rust are theplaymakers leading the first line? Jake won't sign up for that
I know there's value there but you can't move Petterson if you're looking towards next year
