  1. if the top line doesn’t score this team has no life

    0 depth

    another tough loss

  2. Throaway44009988

Were asking the top line to each put up multiple points per game to have any sort of semblance to have a potent offence. When theyve been off the last 3 games, man it fucking shows.

One has to wonder if hughes will bite the bullet and buy out one of andy or gallagher this summer. The short term cap gains would help him make a blockbuster move, and at this point i think he needs it. Large chunk of the fanbase is starting to lose patience

….Can the Jackets jump ahead of Mtl or is it too late ?

    BAD

    – The level of play just isn’t rly good. Choppy. I get the other goalie made some stops but never really felt they would win the game, but at least be a bit more competitive.

    – Habs second PP unit. Josh Anderson! (I mean…) Josh Roy (not a problem here but he is developing). Jesse Ylonen (I don’t think he’s NHL caliber). Hard to win games with lack of talent.

    – Gallagher is just done. I mean it’s one thing playing during the a rebuild it’s whatever but just don’t actively hurt the team, which it seems like that’s what he’s doing these days.

    – Glaring roster issues aside I don’t rly know why these collapses during the game happen. Or why they are literally like 1-9 on back to backs. Just isn’t good and again I realize it’s a rebuild but that still makes it bad.

    *GOOD*

    – Josh Roy was noticeable getting involved.

    The tank continues….

  6. We need to seriously calm down guys. People asking for results are delusional after just 2 drafts.

A top 6-7 pick again this year, Reinbacher , mailloux and Hutson slowly joining the team and Dach coming back will change the face of this team completely.

Lets be patient people, it will be worth it.

    gg

    Cant wait until that:
Bruins, Flames, Oilers, Canucks, Kraken, Avs, Flyers, Canes, Panthers, Lightning, Leafs, Rangers, Flyers, Isles, Sens, Wings Wings end of season.

  8. Nobody to pick up the pace if the first line doesn’t show up that’s the reality of our situation.

Also Gally, Anderson, Armia, Pearson that’s alot of deadwood

  9. Another good game from Roy.

The top power play unit had some good chances that Jarry et al. were able to block, though their showings got much less distinguished as the game went on.

Ottawa beat Dallas, they’re inching closer to passing us in the standings too. Now Arizona just needs to stop sucking so hard.

Yknow what, I’m not even upset or mad at the team after tonight, the team is what it is, never was going to be or expected to be a competitive team this year and that’s okay.

I’m not necessarily one to hope the Habs lose, but honestly I would be super stoked at a top 5 pick, it’s quite evident how much a game breaking offensive talent would mean for the Habs. Someone who can come in and in 2-3 years take the load off of Suzuki, slaf and caufield.

Not that slaf, caufield or Suzuki are underperforming, but you can’t reasonably expect them to carry the offense night in and night out for the next 5-10 years.

I know some may think we should trade our draft pick but idk, I guess I’m just an optimist that we will draft a play driving offensive forward.

You look at other teams that have success drafting in the 5-10 range with great offensive talent, a guy like Brady tkachuk, not necessarily a mcdavid or a matthews type talent but just a very strong forward to add some dimension.

  11. MessageBoard

We are carrying about 6 NHL caliber forwards at this point and three are bottom six guys. We had to run out of steam eventually.

  12. skradmore

Liking Arber with savard. He’s finally playing with someone with veteran experience and will hopefully be able to learn from him. Anyone else notice how good Arber is at passing? I feel like 90% are on the tape of another teammate even when he’s under pressure

  13. lacoupe25

The most important result of this game is that Savard-Roy finished at the top of the advanced stats. Savard because we want to get a decent TDL return, and Roy because he’ll be part of LA COUPE 25. That’s two games in a row in which Roy was our best forward (though 2 games in a row with no goals from forwards).

  14. Two game pointless streak for Slaf. Do we just relocate the franchise?

  15. DoubleZek

Another “hatty for X”, another off night for the team. /s!

Ou well, they fought, just not enough. Jarry made some great save. Cole losing his skate again is just bad luck. Let’s hope Strubble is fine. Go Habs Go!

  16. The drop off in offence after our first line is insane. Newhook seems like he could be good with better players but nobody else is even a good 3rd liner

  17. This team has one 2nd line and three 5th lines 🙂

  18. jimhabfan

It’s not the team. It’s not the talent. We’ve had bad teams before but at least they played entertaining hockey. This team is lost. They can’t generate any offence beyond working it back to the point, floating a shot toward the net and hoping it hits something and deflects in. In their own end they’re even worse. There is no defensive system beyond standing around and watching the other team pass it around at will. Our poor goaltenders deserve better.

Half the team has checked out. They’re just going through the motions. Bad passing, poor decision making, half assed ineffectual forechecking, pucks rolling off sticks, it just goes on and on. It’s the worst hockey I’ve seen from a Habs team.

I hate to say it, but Marty St.Louis is not the coach this team needs. They need someone, anyone that can get them playing in a tighter system where they’re more accountable in their own end, and at least have a chance to create some offence on transition or off the cycle that doesn’t end with a floater from the blue line.

  19. NevyTheChemist

this team needs more key pieces to be competitive.

  20. My fault, I picked up Slaf and Suzuki to join Caufield in fantasy. I will amend my errors and start the streak again.

  21. SatireSqurriel

Gallagher and Anderson are absolutely terrible
