I think all of us (if not at least definitely me) Owes Mr. Chairot an apology for all the shit I talked last year

I’m sorry for saying you were holding Mo back.

  1. Year 2 in a hockey system is much better for hockey players. They stop thinking the system and just start playing the system. If you think out there, you’re dead.

Should be a lesson to put the pitchforks away for other players, but that’s just my opinion lol

  3. FartPenisFart

He has become a better player and im so happy to see. I was his biggest hater last year

  4. He’s gonna be an absolute fucking beast for us in the playoffs

  5. Ohhellnowhatsupdawg

I don’t owe shit. Lol I thought he got an unreasonable amount of hate last year when he was new to the team and was clearly our 2nd best defenseman even then.

  6. thesunwillrise123

idk last season he moved like a battleship and tonight he was wheeling like bobby orr

  7. facforlife

He wasn’t good last year. He was criticized. He is good this year. He is praised. That’s how it should go….

Are you just not supposed to critique players who are consistently playing badly? Lol.

You guys need to stop thinking so rigidly black and white. If a player is good, say so. If a player is bad, say so. It’s the same in the rest of life. Being someone’s friend doesn’t mean never calling them out when they do bad. This isn’t that hard but I guess for some of you it is. 🤷

Bro scored one OT goal and starts skating like Bobby Orr 😂

Yes he’s been better but part of the reason is he’s not getting the top matchups we signed him to take. Seider and Walman are taking those. He’s much better in this role and I’m very happy, but when you see Seider’s usage at record breaking difficulty Chiarot’s improved season is indirectly why.

Cool, now we have 3 defensemen earning their paychecks

I just wish more people could see he’s the same player. All last year, he was the same great skater, made good breakout passes, blocked a lot of shots, had decent skill in the offensive zone, and hits like a bomb.

There are just so many factors in hockey. Chiarot was new to the team, who had a new coach, and they weren’t great all year. They were okay, and a mediocre team will not make a defensive defenseman’s stats or advanced analytics look good. And I know for a fact a ton of his minuses last year had nothing to do with him.

Point is, he’s the same player. He’s not doing anything different really. Lalonde has used him so much and praised him whenever he comes up because he can see what Chiarot brings to the team, and that’s just on the ice. It seems pretty clear that he’s also important in the locker room.

Last year? I saw someone talking shit after the second period tonight that the old Chiarot was back. Like, wtf

I LOVED Ben before he got here. Last year changed my mind. This year is me saying “where the fuck was this before I bad mouthed you!”

  14. MoldyMerkin

I was a hater last year, but dude has more than redeemed himself with his steady play.

  15. BortWingz

Clearly we’ve been wasting his talents by not using him in OTs before.

  16. Lost2nite389

I personally never hated on him and actually liked him and was glad we signed him, but I tend to never “hate” on my home teams players regardless lol so take it with a grain of salt

  17. Don’t even respect him enough to spell his name right.

  18. KillerKorwin

He has been better this year but not great, to many times he looks lost in his own zone. He has a great shot, great shot blocker and above average skater but his decision making is below average and this is what hurts him. Wasn’t a hater last year and not hating on him this year, he is a 4/5 physical defenseman who is a bit over paid. Just glad he is turning puck over less this year and not pinching like crazy like last year.

  19. UncleIrohsPimpHand

I mean, buddy kinda earned it last year. But he has regained the trust.

  20. Calamitous_Waffle

Yeah, I’m convinced that last year he did everything that the staff asked him to do and it just didn’t work out, like driving some offence since they had very little of it last year. Lalonde only said good things about him last year. This year he doesn’t need to, but he can definitely contribute if the opportunity arises.

  21. PitifulPossum

I will admit I have cursed his name many times and that they have for the most part been warranted. That being said…hes been fucking great this year. Overtime king benny!

  22. Delicious_Invite_850

Stats never tell the whole story. If you don’t watch the game then you don’t know

  23. Sometimes it takes a bit to get comfortable in a new system with a new team. But his role has changed too. Last year he was to be mentoring Seider as veteran guidance and he was not good at that. This year he can just play.

One thing to note on this is Edvinsson way more than Seider needs a good vet to mentor him. They don’t have that guy on RD right now.
