The Winnipeg Jets Need a Defensemen at the Trade Deadline

Lots of the big names on defense have begun to either come off the board, or have too many hurdles for the Jets to jump through to make a deal work. In this video, I explain why some players might be impossible to acquire, and why some under the radar options may be best for Winnipeg.

  1. Ideally, I would love K'andre Miller to be on our team, but that's a major longshot. Realistically, I would love Ilya Lyubuskin from the Ducks. Dude is mad, mad underrated would be great for our team. Maybe we can do a 3 team trade with the Ducks and Flyers where we get Travis Konecny and ILYA Lyubuskin in a package for maybe Logan Stanley, Mason Appleton, Chaz Lucius and a future 2nd and 3rd).

  2. bro if they add matt dumb I'm gonna be really mad. sure he's offensively good but his defensive metrics are dogshit. he's being carried by JJ moser. Gudbranson on the other hand I really like, tough mean and not a slouch when tossing hands.

  3. It's Chevy…if he adds someone…good chance he'll add someone you've never considered…

  4. I like Tinordi as bottom pair/7th maybe trade Stanley.
Gudbranson makes alot of sense idk if they can retain or maybe a Pionk6m,iafallo4.4m,or schmidt5.9m going other way.
    Lyubushkin is good as well.

  5. I think the Jets need a heavey 2nd line (middle six) winger like Anthony Mantha, especially in playoffs. Depth defensemen wouldn't hurt but need a winger that can contribute offensively and take the rigorous playoffs.

  6. I’m not sold one the idea that Winnipeg needs a defence man. Allowed the least goals in the league. And from the limited amount we saw Stanley in the playoffs he seemed to be alright

  7. Hoping they trade Pionk & Stanley for a solid defenseman. Even if it doesn't happen this season I still think it needs to happen in the next year or so

  8. IF IT AIN'T THE CALIBRE OF HANNIFIN DON'T BOTHER, THE OTHERS MENTIONED, WE ALREDY HAVE THAT AND THERE USED TO THE TEAM SYSTEM. TANEV IS TOUGH BUT STONE HANDS AS IT GETS? PERHAPS DEBRANSSON?

  9. As I've been saying for over a month on Peg City Hockey, this channel, and Illegal Curve, let go of/combination of Pionk, Stanley, Perfetti, get Tanev and that guy you suggested from Washington or Laine. Yes yes on all three channels I've been criticized for mentioning Laine with people constantly mentioning his physical and mental issues, but I retort that with a response I wrote a few days ago:
I politely retort with that I believe his mental issues and injuries (possibly helped due to compromised mental clarity) are because of him leaving Winnipeg. He was traded away because Wheeler didn't like Laine playing Xbox on game day, and Wheeler obviously had sway with Chevs, but Wheeler was actually the poison pill in the room, as shown by the team this year shifting a completely different room attitude.
If Laine came back I guarantee his mental issues would disappear, he would be an instant threat on the power play, help driving into the zone adding more speed back, takes the attention from more opponents (leaving others open), the fans still love him and would put more butt's in the seats, and he's a natural sniper, which we need more goals. I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to come back now that the environment has changed.

  10. "The fellowship I found in A.A. enabled me to face my problem honestly, and squarely. I couldn't do it among my relatives, I couldn't do it among my friends. No one likes to admit there a drunk, that they can't control this thing. But when we come into A.A. we can face our problem honestly, and openly. I went to closed meetings, and open meetings. And I took everything A.A. had to give me. Easy does it. One day at a time. It was at that point, I reached surrender. I heard one woman say that she didn't believe in the surrender part of the program. My heavens! Surrender has to me, has meant the ability to run my home 🏡 to face my responsibilities as they should be faced, and to take life as it comes to me day, by day, and work my problems out. That's what surrender has meant to me. I surrendered once to the bottle, and I couldn't do these things. …. A.A. gives us alcoholics direction into a way of life, without the need for alcohol 🍸 That life is lived one day at a time – letting the problems of the future, rest with the future. When the time comes to solve them, God will give me strength for that day. I had been brought up to believe in God. But I know, that until I found this A.A. program. I had never found, or known faith in the reality of God. The reality of His power, that is now with me in everything I do. 😃

  11. I would keep Pionk. I think Dillion and Him are really good on the second line D. However Stanley would be a great trade asset!
