When he first joined the team they weren’t winning but he was getting a good amount of points
Now they’re winning and his points are still there (not as fiery as before but still, woah)
I thought the Blackhawks should have resigned him. He would have understood that this was Bedard's team now. And it would have been so much better for Bedard to have someone on his skill level to play with……………..
I’m going to say this: Kane makes the players around him better. Good shooters at practice make goalies better, competitive pairings at practice make defensemen better, good passes from presence players make shooters better. That losing streak happened when the wings had no practice time on their schedule. Lalonde hinted to that in a presser. Wings got one good practice with kaner and they broke through the wall. It’s playoff time. LGRW
Kane being nearly a point a game guy after getting his hip resurfaced is insane. Absolutely love it. And that Larkin no look was filthy
As a Blackhawks fan: I've learned to never doubt #88, ever. And I'm soo excited for the postseason. Playoff Kaner is a different beast.
The guy knows his body. If he didn't think he could compete anymore he has plenty of money to retire. He didn't have brain surgery, he insanely smart and patient with the puck, and him and DeBrincat can be better. LGRW!!!!
They have used that give and go cross ice pass and teams still cannot cover Kane crashing the net from the right side.
Keep using it.
How much his contract is, it was always a good pick up
I've been a hawks fan since i got into hockey and it makes me really happy to see Kaner play great hockey. No matter the team, i love to watch him play
Patrick Kane could have retired at 30 and have been a legend, everything else is just the cherry on top of his career. It just really makes me annoyed when people try and talk about him like he was just another "good" player, nah…. this guy is different.
Wow what a great game. FInal goal was just a work of art!
As a Hawks fan I knew what detroit was getting. I think the biggest benefit is kaner showing the young team what it takes to be a playoff team. I'm so happy he gets to play at this level again team wise.
I was more pessimistic about the signing of Kane if I am honest and I questioned the chemistry for a bit, but I didn't necessarily think it was a bad signing, at worse case he could be used for trade bait if it came to that. I also knew it would take some time to for him to get back into the grove, and now that he has done that, it looks like a masterful signing by Yzerman. My biggest complaint early on was that it looked like the Wings were always trying to force the play to Kane rather then take the shot or another pass, but they have appeared to after the all star break to figure that out and aren't forcing it, letting it come naturally and it's working out really well. Great win last night
Larkin is a workhorse l. Also helps being the fastest skater in the league.
Low risk signing by Steve and he makes the haters look foolish again.
Kane has been great but, boy, Alex Lyon has been extremely valuable to this point.
I have a feeling most people shitting on the Kane signing (at first) were just fucking around. It's fun to shit all over everything online. I did the same, even though I knew deep down that it was a no brainer of a signing. I actually wanted Toronto to get him, ha.
His return to Chicago is gonna be something to tear up with as an nhl fan of any team
Got to love it
You have to like it. If he plays most of the games next year, a return to the top ten in scoring is possible.
Even when the rumors started swirling around that Detroit could be the landing spot for kane, I told my buddy this – "We have the cap space, and no certainty that we will make the playoffs. I would be more than happy if we signed him to a low cost one year deal to see what happens"
I think it has panned out very well for the wings and for Kane. Will he sign an extension? It's possible, but I think only if we squeak into the playoffs. He does have the trade clause to move him if we slip out of contention
I hope he stays after this season. Him and Debrincat brought so much of what the Wings lacked
It’s the kind of move Mike Illitch would have done.. Mike spent money to make money, especially later on in life. His kid needs to take a page out of his dad’s old play book. You can’t take it with you so Win now while you can.. go Tigers and go Wings!!
I love watching Kane play.. So much composure and skill, its impressive.
I don't think he's washed. I just think he'll regret it in the long run.
Yzerman has a ton of work to do. Attaining this chemistry is one thing, maintaining it is another.
Trust the Yzerplan
It is Patty Kane folks, he was always going to be great. He is the best American player ever, fight me.
December was bad. Full-stop.
But anyone saying "the team is worse with Kane in the lineup" is a complete joker. He's made the team so much better.
Similar to Bobby Hall going to the Jets, just the quality of the players with HEART..
Man I still think he has the potential to be the Kane of old. Has anyone else noticed how well he has been moving out there? He's got that spring in his step again. He can cross over left and right again perfectly fine. I can't remember which game is was, perhaps the Flames game, but he was FLYING out there. Really happy he's proving all the casual couch gms wrong.
MacKinnons defence was terrible prior to that goal. He can take massive – for that.
The scoring on Detroit is not even in question anymore. 6th in league in Goals for.
That is not Detroits problem ( and hasn't been for 2 years really)
Detroits issues are in STOPPING the goals and Hronek is being sorely missed right now.
Regardless of that Shutout, Reimer has to go and Lyons is proving why he should be #1 and Husso should be the backup or trade bait for another proven goaltender..
Lyons is winning games Detroit shouldn't be winning.
Detroit is like 7th in the NHL for Goals scored , but 14th in stopping them. Thats very Mid.
Its crazy that Boston has just ONE more goal than Detroit yet are 14 points behind them in the standings and Boston's tied for first in the league.
Extremely telling stats here.
No excuses. That's goaltending. period.
Get Jake Allen or Jake Campbell right now or Detroit's gonna have a sucky post season.
People are stupid, and stupid people like to talk more than any other group of people. I thought it was a good gamble to take, but to be honest, in watching his mobility I was a little concerned if he would fully recover from the hip surgery enough to be able to compete even though he was producing, then he got injured. Since his return from injury he looks MUCH better mobility wise. He is putting a lot of weight on that hip and striding much better than he was pre injury.
messes with team chemistry? locker room cancer?
WRONG KANE
Those who trashed kane after he signed with the wings were salty fans because he didn't pick them. Im looking at you leaf fans lol 😉
Do you think Detroit should offer him an extension (say for another year or two), or should they flip him at the deadline? I think they should look at extending him.
Kane is a locker room cancer? According to who?
Kind of like Martin St Louis, still a great shooter late in his career.
That was such a beautiful play
Funny how DeBrincat was the talk of the town until the Kane signing. Now Cat seems like a faded memory lol
It was a calculated medium risk move by Steve. I say it's worked out. I'm more interested in what he does before March 8th deadline. Already reupped Ras. Anyone next or part of trades. Gonna be interesting.
