Coach how happy were you to see your team respond after giving up three goals in that second period and pull out the win yeah I mean uh the the start of both the first and second period wasn’t great for us especially the second um the first I think some of the shots made

This made it look a little more one-sided than maybe it was there were some perimeter shots that we could have got in front of and I think we did a better job as the game went on um certainly the the second periods continue to be a problem for us and it’s

Not something that we’re not aware of and we’re certainly talking a lot about it trying to make sure we come out sharp and then for whatever reason the the pucks are going in before we can even get our skates tied up something it feels like um so to get down and then

Fight back and then and score the the the two quick goals there to get back in front I I was really really proud of how hard we played in the third period I thought we really embraced the hard jobs getting pucks out of Our Own Zone winning battles 50/50 Puck battles with

Our sticks we had a couple big shots at the shot blocks at the end um and I just thought that was a real complete third period and we got contributions from everybody the London game notwithstanding that’s two games this week where you gave up leads but fought

Back and get the wins what’s that tell you about your Hockey Club uh just certainly shows some mental toughness some resiliency uh I mean we theoretically we did have the lead in London as well and gave it up uh I thought the London game we played well

We just had some mental lapses you know at the end of the first period at the beginning of the third period and obviously their power play is lethal same as these guys tonight they’re two of the best power plays in the league and um we came in tonight knowing

Discipline was going to be critical uh it’s unfortunate we we took the two penalties late um they scored one real nice power play goal and I thought our PK did a great job on the second one want to ask you about no more no in his

Game um how what did you think of his game yeah he I mean he’s been he always gives you everything that he’s got from an effort point of view um you know obviously the trade deadlines opened up some other opportunities and he’s been able to step in the power play and his

Productions coming up I want to say that’s eight points in the last seven games for him so uh he’s really um adding some secondary offense to our team and that that we badly need so um he’s been playing great and and it’s showing in his work ethic second

Straight game for Joey castano and he got the win what do you think about his game yeah Joey uh his confidence is is a lot better than where it was a few weeks ago and um you know I credit our video coach Johnny Moran he uh he went back

Tried to find some some video clips from from last year when Joey was playing pretty well and just trying to maybe refocus reprogram the mind a little bit focus more on what you’re good at what your strengths are and I thought Joy’s really embraced that he’s um you know he

He was really strong solid right from the get-go tonight um these these guys have some real sharp shooters um and the goals they scored were were from snipers so um I thought Joey gave us an opportunity to win the game and and if you get that from your goal tender

Yeah I think we were uh smarter uh defensively than we normally are guys stuck with their their man and we just came out on top you had a great goal penalty shot goal um hustle played first get the call and then get the penalty shot walk us through that yeah so I saw

Christop foro got the puck and then one of their D’s changed and I was beating their D wide all game so I just I just got on my horse and I I I had a breakway and the guy just hit the hit my stick

Out of the hand and then I was able to to bury on the penalty shot yeah walk us through the penalty shot are you a shoot guy or a deep guy I’m usually I’ve been twice this year I’ve shot both times and I’ve scored so I usually have I have my

Move and then he he was cheating a little to the right so I went low glove and it went in give us an idea of the confidence in the room right now for your guys yeah I mean we had that uh win on Thursday and then uh it was a tough

Loss yesterday but then we won again so it was a great weekend for us and I think we just got to keep building off that and and it’s going to be a good for us the rest of the year I mean I know you start getting down to numbers and

Games and things do do you put the math out of your mind and stop looking at the standings and just focus on the games or or are you still looking at the math yeah I think we try to uh just not focus on the the standings obviously like we

Set on the bench I think we just kind of took it within ourselves and uh and we just said we don’t want this to happen again we had a pretty good crowd tonight we wanted to do it for them and they come out and support us every night so

Um I think we just kind of wanted to stay with it and uh and we did and we we’re lucky to get a win you look like the flash out there sometimes on superhero night here um two goals and an assist just talk about your game yeah I

Thought I played pretty well I think I’m gaining confidence here and I think I’m gaining trust in my uh in my teammates and in my coaches and and it’s shown and it’s helping me a lot a lot along the way too so um hopefully we can keep it

Going and and hopefully I can continue continue to produce for the for the team and do what the team needs to win coach talked about you getting some more responsibility some more ice time do you feel like you have a greater responsibility with that yeah I do and I think

Uh and with that comes pressure and and with that you just got to you got to keep a level mind and I think I’ve been doing a good job of that and like I like to see the like a little bit more trust and a little bit more ice time for my

Coaches and um when that happens you gain confidence as well and I I think I’m kind of harnessing that pretty good it’s coming down to the final weeks of the season how focused is this group on on that playoff push yeah very focused we like I I’ve said this before we we

Made the play we were first in the in the rest last year we don’t want to miss the playoffs and I think I think we have the group in here to do it and I think we have the group to uh uh bring us to

The playoffs and I think if we keep keep playing hard and keep playing the way we’ve been playing we’re going to be all right do you look at the stands at all or do you sort of just have to put that on your mind and just say just at this

At this point like a little bit I mean we still we still do want to take it one game at a time one shift at a time but like at this point in the year we got I don’t know how many games left like 18

Or 19 games so we you got to do a little bit but I think it’s you can’t get too caught up in it and you got to um like stay levelheaded and and focus on the task at hand I mean for you did you ever think you’d have like this kind of

Offensive responsibility when you got here um yeah like like it’s everybody wants to be the guy that’s relied on to score and a guy that can get points and I think that um I think that me coming into this role a little bit more is um it’s a confidence builder for me and
