He has been playing fantastic this season, and was absolutely amazing last night. I feel like his performance has been overshadowed by what our offense has been doing. He’s been huge.
He’s been so good, how many mil per year should we give him
MemeLordOverKill
He’s signed for next year at almost nothing as well. A tandem of Lyon / Cossa would probably be the best value tandem in the league next year.

The man has made his case for me to buy his jersey from Detroit Athletic.

Without him we’re chasing a wildcard spot instead of holding one. I’m bummed his name isn’t popping up in MVP/Vezina talk at all. Aside from that night against the Edmonton McDavids he deserves some recognition from the league.

Literally been the dude to bring it all together this season. Fight me.

I always imagined the right post would be the appreciation post, but the left one looks good too

He might be my favorite red wing honestly

If Detroit makes the playoffs, he deserves some vezina votes

And he has (albeit little) playoff experience. Extremely valuable with a young team heading to a lot of the younger core’s first playoffs
ReptarTheBrave
I would have to disagree on his performances being overshadowed. We all appreciate Alex Lyon and understand how much he’s turned us into a playoff team. The last game I went to tons of people were screaming “WE LOVE YOU ALEX” over the glass when he was on our end of the ice lol
I know there was some debate in January if he could maintain how well he was playing, but I think we know for sure now he’s the real deal.

I feel like for the last four years it goes: goalie from last year starts to suck -> new guy gets a couple starts and impresses -> new guy becomes a hero for the season -> new guy becomes the goalie from last year and the cycle repeats
I sure hope Lyon can end this pattern and become our stopgap until Cossa or Augustine are ready (if ever goalies, are voodoo)
iDuglegur
I just hope they can get the kid some help before any big playoff push.

When he said his dream job is to drive a mini bus taking dogs to dog parks, that’s when I knew 😍

Would never have gotten this far without him. We needed someone to take the reins, especially with Husso becoming a china doll.

Without Lyon standing tall in net there is no OT heroics that matter and could juice these guys into better things. Simple
To me he should have gotten the 1st star.

There are so many parts that came together to make it where we are, but without his performance alone, we wouldn’t be where we are. Hope he doesn’t get tired as the season moves to an end.
TheBrothersClegane
He’s really been fed to the wolves this season with Husso going down and he’s played like an absolute mad man despite the pressure. I was at the game vs the Avs last night and he had so many crucial stops. This season would look a lot different without him.
