Feels like the room is lost and I think Lee’s leadership should start being called into question
I want to make the playoffs and go on a run. This one would be really important by virtue of gaining two on a wild card team. Tampa Bay doesn’t look as invincible as in years past; they can be beaten by neutralizing Kucherov.
With that said it’s still a rough till to climb. They’re currently 21st in the league in points percentage given the Devils having the tiebreaker. They would fall to 22nd with a regulation loss today since Seattle and Minnesota play each other.
I also kind of want to see what happens if the team continues to falter. This is a team that sits out of a playoff spot on game 57 with the 30th oldest forward group in the league, a bottom-ranked prospect pool, and a cap crisis. A change in coach has them looking better on the ice, but yielding worse results in the standings on an easier schedule. If they land outside the playoffs again or make it only to get eliminated in a poor showing with no changes to ownership, that will speak very poorly on this ownership group in my opinion.
Buckle up everyone, it’s “this is a must win” season.
