Arber has the ability to be a Chara, or Burns, or Byfuglin, their original teams all gave up on them to soon. A lot of Habs fans are high on Guhle, I think with the young d we have his skill set can be replaced, that is who I would trade for a top six winger
This team is struggling offensively and is stacked with Defensive prospects. Yes losing Xhekaj would be a hit (for this year). That being said, getting a player with an offensive upside in Zegras would potentially be a major improvement to the second largest area of need for this team. When in a rebuild the emotion must be left aside for the better good of the team.
Do not trade Arber, he’s the BOSS of the team and silently protects the smaller players when he’s playing. His potential needs to be recognized as the more he plays we see things that for a guy his size is phenominal.
If habs were a playoff team I am keeping wifi but long term zegras might be the better play. Realistically Habs only serious playoff team in 2028 if this rebuild pans out…

Should they trade Xhekaj for Zegras if the option was there? yes. But as a huge Habs fan, I hope they don't pull the trigger on that trade if it was available.
For Zeegras I would wait and see who we draft . If we draft Lindstrom then yes I would trade Xhakaj for Zegras even though I LOVE Zhakaj. Reason is that we could have a wicked second line with Lindstom- Dach-Zegras.
Arber Xhekaj = NO TRADE. He's right there with Suzuki and Slaf as far as I'm concerned as do not trade franchise players. These three making watching the Habs FUN. So teams can talk all they want but Hughes better not go there. When we look at a Cup contender, Arber will be the rock on defence that they will NEED. So find another way to get Trevor or move on to the next opportunity.

If the Habs play hard, but lose every game for the rest of the season, they will get a top-four pick. So while it's painful to see them lose, I'm happy too.
If the Habs can get something valuable for Harris, they will trade him. Hughes will clear space for Lane and David.

Let's face it. We are ahead of schedule with the rebuild. If we didn't have the injuries, our 2nd line would have been more productive and we would have lost less one goal games. There are still tweaks to be made for sure, but with the kids that are coming and the kids we are sorting thru at the moment WE ARENT THAT FAR OFF and Xhekaj is a big prt of this and if they moved him I'D BE PISSED but I believe they know what they have in him and wouldn't trade him for a soft lazy type player in Zegras.

Man if Xhekaj is THE main guy in a trade for Zegras, that shows how much respect the Sherif has in the league and how big they see him… How many teams asked for the price when he went down to the Rocket? Our strong man is so unique, never touch him because we'll regret it sooner than later.

I think Barron should be traded along with the Winnipeg 1st + a decent forward prospect. A forward prospect to potentially replace zegras in the future, Barron will help them by giving them a deccent defencemen you can place on the 2nd or 3rd pairing and an opportunity to draft someone who can play in their top6. great deal. maybe anaheim can give us a 3rd or 4th in the deal so we dont feel scammed.
I dont mind getting zegras but not at the cost of xhekaj. Id rather give harris, barron and a 1st than xhekaj – im not saying thats a good trade deal, im saying thats how much i like xhekaj

Rumors – why would the Habs trade away a rising star for a player who might be able to turn his career around. Zegras has undeniable talent but he doesn't have drive and grit and he will be challenged in this difficult market. The fans LOVE Wifi and he does fill seats with his gritty play.
