  1. Life is so funny, just the other day I was watching him with a big smile eating pizza, padding call Cofield on the back and screaming go habs go! And the next minute he’s not on the team anymore!! That’s the way the hockey world works .. but I just find it to be so funny. Me, I have been a Habs fan since 1992, I can’t imagine one day to the next switching teams

  2. Players are no longer tied to their favorite team, they just chase money like whores. I can't believe that for someone born in Quebec with hockey culture and the knowledge of the value of being able to play an entire career in the iconic world hockey team, you can leave this opportunity of fame for "a fistful of dollars". it is a matter of heart, of value, of respect, of life, being a HABS goes beyond the value of "a few dollars more".
I'm sorry for you phillip, you didn't take this opportunity to stay in montreal and make history and be a legend for us. HABS Légion étrangère

  3. not a sellout , just a guy who wanted to experience another market. Good for him to cashout and thanks for your time in Mtl

  4. Sell out mtl offered him 30 mill for 6 years he will end up being a bad signing. Part of me is happy we didn’t get screwed with his contract but he is a sell out

  5. Everyone saying 1 million per goal is a joke. Even if he did have a bad season goal wise, he put up assists and was one of the best defensive forwards in the league. He showed his worth in the playoffs. I just don’t hope this guy will get them to the playoffs. He won’t help that much.

  6. As a Kings fan since 1987 (9 years old), GREAT signing. Get us back to the Cup days again Luc & Rob!!!! 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

  7. To all those calling him a sellout, would you really have taken a discount to stay with your team?

This is going to be the guy’s biggest contract of his career, and possibly his only chance to cash out big. He has every right to try and maximise his value on the market and get the best deal possible. That obviously includes the money, but also the NMC and M-NTC that the Kings offered that Habs reportedly didn’t. The guy has a young family to think about as well.

Congrats Phil, you’ll be missed and GL in LA

    A Habs fan
