Last long winning streak this team had was in 15-16 at 9 games. They were a first round exit that year. Winning makes me happy but they must prioritize being a cup contender over all else.

Laffreniere is on pace to score 50ish points. That is underwhelming for the "biggest prospect since Auston Matthews". He isn't someone I would be eager to build around.

Thoughts: Yes, 10 games is a NYR record, achieved twice before: 1939-40 (Stanley Cup!), 1972-73 (GAG line; Rod Gilbert, Jean Ratelle, Vic Hadfield). I remember it fondly. Fun fact: it was a 16-game unbeaten streak: 4 wins, tie, 10 wins, tie. I'm still old school enough to agree with Bobby Holik (and others); you shouldn't get points for losses. Also, as an old schooler, I'm hoping the Rangers and Leafs meet, next Saturday, with their streaks intact. Original Six match-up 12-game streak against a 9-game streak: delicious. As for Rempe's goal, the kid was doing his job, screening the goalie, and got rewarded, as they say. The first goal that gives me a chuckle was a Wild rook, Duhaime, I think, who had the puck bounce off him while he was bent over, picking up his stick, with his back to the play, off to the side. I think it was off his leg, or skate, which just says to me that whatever hockey god was watching lacked a sense of humor. Should have been off his butt.
