You gotta see this..

OK Guys.. It’s time to take a look at some of the highlights from the Montréal Canadiens skills competition earlier today.. Arber Xhekaj was a standout. Not only did he win the hardest shot competition, but his shot was actually over 107mph.. Which is incredible.. Right up there with the likes of Shea Weber and Zdeno Chara! Lets chat about it!

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

  1. Remember Subban blasting absolute slappers from the point. I would love nothing more than to see Xhekaj on the powerplay drilling pucks to the net the way Subban used to. And especially with how insane Slaf has been with puck retrieval lately. If it goes in it goes in, if it goes wide or deflects wide there's a damn good chance Slaf is going to get the puck back and if it hits the goalie or a player in front of the net and rebounds anywhere close to Caufield or Suzuki it's probably getting put in the back of the net.

  2. yes, please sign him for 15 years

and am i the only one feeling like it had been a while since i saw the habs have fun at one of these and not feel like they were there because it is mandatory?
    love to see it

  3. He’s starting to remind me of Scott Stevens. Got a ways to go yet, but he is that style of player.

  4. There shouldn't be a team in the NHL that doesn't want Arber. He is a unicorn and Montréal would be horribly wrong to consider anything realistic in return for him. I firmly believe Florian will be at least a 4th liner too. Thats serious potential for the Habs to be one of the toughest teams in the league in the not so distant future especially if Struble, Ghule and Mailloux can be part of it all as well. With Slafkovsky and Reinbacher added to the mix thats some major size to complement the skill.

  5. they better not trade arber we all remember when mario trembley hubris cost us Donald Brashear that started a long decent in to the icy hell since 1996 Kent hughes watch out

  6. If people are always knocking on the door wanting to trade for the guy, there must be something very special about him. He's a keeper in my books.

  7. Seeing Xhekaj in Kitchener for several season's, can say the team played better when he was in the line up compared to when he wasn't. More to his game than a goon.

  8. He's a beast, but I think he's gotta be well supported in order to remain humble and responsible.

  9. Keep Xhekaj for god sakes. Why would you trade him for mid foder, not what we need…

Not sure why you compare him to Weber…

If he could ever be a Souray light with a mega touch of physicality, I will be ecstasic! 🎉

  10. I can’t believe he’s even considered in the trade talks. After all the great moves Hughes has made he couldn’t possibly tarnish that with such a boneheaded move

  11. Xhekaj isn't being traded. But his contract should've been extended by now. He's getting more expensive every day.

  12. I agree 100 percent. There is far more to Xhekaj than his fists. He has skill and a truly wicked slapshot that reminds me of Steve Shutt, remember him? he had quite the slapshot back in the eighties, and even before he retired he could still shoot the puck well, I see this in Arber and he's a defenceman, not a winger. The Habs had better to keep this guy, and well consider this, if they get Florian too, that would be awesome!

  13. Thats the thing about the official skills competition. Its only taking measurements of 30 or so all stars. Theres hundreds of guys in the league and theyre all damn good hockey players with different skill sets. Im sure the hardest shooter will never make an allstar team and same goes for the other events.

  14. Wish the skills comp would bring in the players that are good at that skill. It should be a league wide event. Not just the allstars

  15. I was surprised when Arbe scored that one, and it showed 102 plus something MPH. Has anybody else seen a goal scored where the thing says 102 mph in an actual game situation? Just wondering. I can't recall seeing it.

  16. Canadiens management have a tendency to trade very good prospects of established players who perform very well, generate energy, excitement and that the fans love. There reasons why they do so ( disagreement with piers, management, rumors of affairs, etc.)
Think about back in the days; Chris Chelios, Patrick Roy, Pk Subban, Kovalev).
In final, they rarely get the high hand after the trade.
PLEASE KEEP THIS ONE WITH THE TEAM FOR GOD SAKE!!!!

  17. Arber Xhekaj don't mess with Costco Cart boy! He's been my favourite Habs Defenseman alongside Former V.Mete & retired R.Diaz . If Vancouver dealt Guillaume Brisebois to the Habs that D line Guillaume brisebois & Arber Xhekaj would be dynamite

  18. 100 % agree. Xhekaj is unique. He can hit, shoot, score, fight, and he seems to be a leader in the room. You don't trade a guy like that, you build a team around him.

  19. Great job my brother , thank God someone else see s it the way i do. Although i knew we were on the same page . I ve been pissing all over the coaching staff for not utilizing his shot . He is the best defensemen for the point on the powerplay. I knew in my mind hes got the hardest shot in the league. And i think he ld be way better than Matheson on the powerplay if they ld work with him in practice. Ithink all he ld have to work on is making sure he doesnt get beat at the blueline holding it in . Other than that ,i think he ld have it down and would be nore of a threat. I knew he had the hardest shot back at the start of last season when i seen it . He s got a Sheldon Souray shot. Thats why i m so pissed with the coaching staff. You hit the nail onthw head they need to start giving him more one one attention in practice in his development. You know for me Xhekja , Slav , and Guhle are my favorites . I really think these three will be having a huge impact on habs future. And they got to stop usi g Guhle on the right side, he s thw future no 1 dman. Keep to his strength ,let Matheson move to the right side he ll be gone in 2 yrs .

  20. There's no way Habs management would be dumb enough to trade Arber. But when he rips the twine on Centre Bell nets, he should have to pay for the repair.

  21. Amber sortve reminds me of Sheldon Souray, can play hit and fight, hope he's a life time hab. Wish he didn't feel the need to fight alot though that's he's not a one trick pony. He's more.
