Thanks for the updates, I really hope we get Duhaime. He'd be the perfect addition to thr 4th line, plus he's a Tocchet type of player. Besides Joshua and Miller we don't really have too much size and pushback upfront so Duhaime would be gold. He brings it every night, he's energetic and doesn't shy away from the rough stuff.
After taxes and agent fees Pettersson will be pretty far away from 100 million. Signing for 8 years will make him 33 at the time of the next contracti, that would play more in the favour of the club than the player imo.

Always appreciate Frank's comments – a breath of fresh air. As soon as the podcast ended, I expect that the whole of the Vancouver media was trying to restart the tire fire and burn the Canucks to the ground. They'll say it's a sign and trade deal – he's leaving Vancouver. I hope the local media enjoyed wiping the egg off its collective faces today. I don't understand why so many want to stereotype Petey is a greedy guy. He's a Swede not an American or Canadian. I have no doubt that trying to set a record for the absolute most amount of money or "having to get" a $100 million contract, were the farthest things from his mind.
Do you think Pettersen's recent play has brought him back to the table they ask. I know this isn't what they meant but imagine if Pettersen said to himself oh crap I'm playing like poop. I better negotiate this before I tank my value.
Petty is doing nothing. His agent is. All he has to do is play and sign the new contract when finalized. He has to know signing before the trade deadline is important and at the latest draft day otherwise bye bye now. Good to hear this may be getting done although I worry about what the cap hit is.
