I’ll be honest. It wouldn’t bother me if Wings don’t do anything at the trade deadline
I don't think they have a truly pressing need right now. If they can swing upgrades in the offseason…go for it

I mean if there’s a deal out there to be done? Sure go for it. Specifically a D man. But let’s be honest here, the boys are playing some good hockey here and the defense is looking not too bad these last week or so. The team they have right now, can definitely pull off a 1st RD upset against anyone right now
I think you can build through trades as well as the draft, but you need to be financially smart. The Wings and Lions both need defensive help. Draft picks can take years to develop (if at all). If you have the capital and the player is a sure fit, go for it.
If the wings wanted to WIN NOW… Like forget next year? If that were the mentality then go for broke. But if there's not like the perfect guy on some teams block, just stay put and see how things pan out. See how they do this year and go from there. This may just be a sample year.
If a move can be made to add a LONG TERM piece I'm sure yzerman will make a move if it makes sense but he's not picking up any rentals and hopefully not moving anyone. If he sticks with what we've got I'm sure most of us will be happy with it, let's see Edvinson up for the playoffs!
I think Yzerman will make a deal to bring a player in if the deal makes sense. Also, most people seem to think the Wings are going to be a buyer at the deadline. One thing for certain though, however this years trade deadline plays out for the Wings, Yzerman will probably do something nobody expected him to do.
A trade would be great, but the team is playing so well. im not gonna be heartbroken if we dont add at the deadline. Especially with how much talent we have in the the farm system
I think if he makes any moves it is to trade Bergeren for some picks since he has allegedly refused an extension since he's still in GR
They need someone on the right side of the D. Rasmus Andersson would be who id trade for.
i just feel right know as a fan base we want to win a Stanley Cup right now and we see what move will help the team get that!! How about we just cool the jets and be happy with the spot that the Red Wings are right now. it has been since 2016 that the Red Wings have made the playoffs!!! Are we as a fan base just that impatient that we see success and just want to jump straight to Stanly cup? Lets just happy with where the team is right now!!! Lets get to the playoff first then once we are there lets go get Stanley Cup!!! Stevie Y has the playbook and the plan, let him cook!!! has Stevie Y steered us the fanbase wrong so far? I don't think so. Lets enjoy what Stevie Y and the team put together!!!
I think because of the entry level contracts we have Steve was able to afford such a deep team. Next season, it's going to be harder to do that.
I bet on sports. I don't pretend to be a fantasy GM. I leave the decisions to the professionals. I'm certain Steve Yzerman knows a lot more about what to do than the media or fans. Same with Brad Holmes. Troy Weaver, not.
Yzerman will make a move if it’s beneficial for the team!!!! Trust the Yzerplan!! I’d rather be patient and be good for a long time than be all in for a moment!!!
I don’t think a move needs to be made. Don’t get me wrong, Kane is 35, you would probably like to strike while the iron is hot. But if I’m Stevie I’m only making a move if it makes total sense. If the price is too high and you have to give up prospects that you’re really high on I wouldn’t do it.

I think yzerman wants to stay put and do nothing, but with berggren likely not wanting to resign, I think he should at least get some return for him
I would heaitate to change the chemistry right now. Kane is absolutely awesome, however, they went on a significant losing streak after Kane-until the team adjusted.
