Mackenzie Blackwood Leaves Game With Injury As San Jose Sharks Get Crushed 7-2 By Devils

The San Jose Sharks have one of their more lopsided affairs as they lose 7-2 to Timo Meier and the New Jersey Devils. Mackenzie Blackwood leaves the game with a lower-body injury in the first period, and the Sharks fall apart in the third, giving up four goals. Discuss how the Sharks played well in the first period behind Blackwood’s stellar work on the penalty kill. Plus, William Eklund and Filip Zadina showed flashes of chemistry in their first game together. Then, look ahead to Kaapo Kahkonen’s workload without Blackwood and if the Magnus Chrona might see a game. Finally, get caught up on the latest trade rumors, including why Mario Ferraro probably won’t get traded. Is a Mikael Granlund trade worth using up the last Sharks retention slots and Luke Kunin to the Oilers?

  1. if blackwood is out for a prolonged period, they need to acquire another team's third goalie who has NHL experience most likely through the waiver wire. i'm not exactly sold on magnus chrona.

  2. Just think, your wishing it was over, and you didn't buy season tickets for this year. Love those turnovers!
After going to the state of the Sharks, Mike Grier didn't seem to excited or vocal about spending any of the 30 plus million in capspace for next year's team either. So we think 1 more year after 23/24. It's ugly now! Since Couture, Hertl & now Vlasic & Blackwood. This d-core is garbage! Thrun, Okhotiuk, Emberson & Bourghs shouldn't even be out there. Turnover/ Giveaways say 8, but I'd say it was 20 turnovers turned into 4 easy goals.

  3. Blackwoods injury probably takes Kahkonen off the trade market. We couldn't tell what happened to Blackwood from our seats.
