And we are live what is going on everybody Welcome to the stream tonight as we’ve got an Eastern Conference Atlantic division battle coming your way between the Buffalo Sabers and the Florida Panthers two teams at very different ends of the spectrum this year Buffalo one of the more disappointing

Teams in the league uh a team that many people myself included thought was going to be competing for a playoff spot this year has really had a brutal season and uh not anywhere close to the playoff picture here as we head into the final

Month and a half or so of the of the season so it’s been a real rough year for Buffalo um they have not taken the strides forward that so many of us expected them to the other side you’ve got the Florida Panthers who are building right off of the success that

They had at the end of last season and into the playoffs and have been one of the best teams in the entire NHL this year Florida is right up there near the top of the league with Boston the New York Rangers Vancouver Canucks um Dallas Stars all those teams that are competing

At the top of the league Florida is right in the mix and really still in president’s trophy consideration at this point a team that could end up finishing best in the NHL so this should be an interesting game we’ll see which Buffalo Sabers team shows up tonight Sabers are

One of those teams that some nights they show those flashes of talent that they do have a and can play well and then other Knights they look like they don’t even belong in the league um it’s wildly inconsistent this year from Buffalo and Florida obviously expecting a very

Well speak on it my next live stream uh after this one tonight is going to be Monday uh March 4th it’s crazy we’re already we’re already almost into March um but it will be Monday night the Bruins will are in Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs um obviously Bruins

Leafs is a monster matchup every time they play each other and Toronto’s been playing really really well recently the Bruins not so much Boston’s lost a lot of games particularly in overtime um they they’ve really struggled with that um they’ve also had a lot of issues lately blowing leads Boston has had

Third period leads that they have not been able to hold so you’ve got a very hot Toronto team that’s playing their probably their best hockey of the season right now against a Bruins team that’s kind of gotten a little too laad isical these last couple of weeks so um that’ll

Players on the play I really don’t see any holding there by Zack Benson whatsoever that’s a horrific call that is a horrific call by the the referee Zack Benson did absolutely nothing except win a race there and then kulakov was it was definitely interference on kulikov because Benson never touched the puck

That is that is absolutely Preposterous how the referee called holding on Benson there but um anyway it’s four on four so we’re going to have a little bit of open ice and this ought to be fun Panthers already get a chance as kachuck from a sharp angle has his shot stopped by

And Avalanche that is a very good matchup in the Western Conference uh penguins are in Vancouver to take on the Canucks at 10 Eastern and the final game of the night 10:30 eastern time I will be long asleep by the time that one starts but uh 10:30 sharks and devils

Uh Devils obviously on the west coast out in San Jose so 12 games excuse me not 13 um 12 games tonight in the NHL and another 12 coming up on Thursday so there’s certainly uh certainly plenty of hockey going on this time of year and uh

Well that’s good at least Jay too bad neither of those things fix the team on the ice but um at least it’ll make the arena a little bit Better well yeah I mean if if there’s if there’s 12 games tonight then there’s not going to be very many tomorrow cuz you don’t want teams playing backto backs all the time so if you have a day that’s full of games chances are the next day is not going to have very many

Which is the case this week there’s only two games tomorrow then there’s another 12 games on Thursday then there’s only three on Friday um then you’ve got 13 on Saturday so you know te team you’re not you’re not going to have teams playing a bunch

Of backto back games so if one day has a lot of games a lot of those teams are going to have the next day off and there won’t be that many games the next day 13 games coming up on Saturday so that’s going to be obviously uh the day of the

Weekend right there um Saturday should have lots of NHL action for you the NHL is pretty much picked Tuesday Thursday and Saturday as their big days um which is smart because for you know the fir most of the NHL regular season they’re competing with football so that

That ruins Sunday and Monday as far as um trying to compete with the NFL fell Thursday Night Football is not as popular so like they they can probably they can have a lot of games on Thursdays it doesn’t matter as much but they’re they’re smart enough at least

Not to make Sunday Monday a big day a big number of games during football season which uh is honestly one of the one of it’s rare to say that the NHL does smart things that’s actually one of the more smart things that they do um Wednesday you Wednesday is usually a

Big night for not a lot of games but a good matchup because TNT TNT has the Wednesday night games um and they usually make those pretty good matchups um even though there’s not a a lot of games the ones that there are or at least the one that’s on TNT is

Generally a pretty top tier game to watch um I’m not really really sure why they don’t have games as much on Fridays unless maybe their data tells them that people are you know don’t watch as much on Friday nights or something I mean they I’m sure they’ve done tons of

Market research as to um you know when games are most likely to be watched and everything so maybe Friday is just not a big TV night and they don’t do a lot of games on Friday so that they’d rather do a bunch of games on Saturday instead

Which they do um Saturdays are usually loaded schedules for the NHL so for whatever whatever the reasoning is there’s there’s not any single reason why there’s a huge multitude of different aspects that go into making the schedule but basically how it’s turned out for the NHL is that Tuesday

Thursdays and Saturdays are their big days where they have a ton of games yes uh Ging ale tonight Jay yes I mean I was I was more mad about the Bruins just blowing another lead Terry which they do pretty much every game now so it wasn’t so much about them

Losing to the Kings or it was more just another blown lead for the Bruins which they do game in and game out right now all right it looks like we got about four minutes left in the intermission and then we’ll be getting into the action for period number two

All it’s one nothing Flyers Caroline also the capitals just scored yeah it was just I think I’m pretty sure Washington just scored because ESPN or maybe ESPN was just wrong no you’re right that that’s still intermission how does ESPN have the wrong score for the Red Wings Capitals

Conduct run Finn so that usually happens when somebody said something to the ref that the referee didn’t like so um I mean Don Granado the coach was absolutely screaming at the ref by the time that the camera got over there but the penalty had already been called by

That point so I don’t know what initially caused the penalty call or what was said to the referee that caused the penalty call but Granado absolutely lost his mind after that and was just ripping the ref a new one for a good 30 seconds after that he’s lucky he didn’t get tossed

Empty control for the Sabers out at the red line they dump it in got to get Lucan in off now they do empty net for Buffalo extra skater on no lucing goes back as the Panthers clear the zone so still no empty net for the Sabers they carry up cousins gains the

New red line and they go off sides entering the Zone this is brutal for Buffalo who is trying to come back in this game and they can’t even get the extra attacker on the ice they go off sides here brutal stretch here for the the Sabers the last 30 to 40

Seconds lucing comes to the bench now they’re not even going to wait to see who wins the face off he’s going to the bench it’s an empty net with 110 to go in the third period and buffalo is using their timeout so we get a timeout here

And luking into the bench so it’s going to be six on five with the extra skater but no goalie for Buffalo if Florida wins this face off it could be it could be lights out real quick Buffalo needs to win this draw hey what’s going on Gavin welcome in
