The talking heads patting themselves on the back because Petey is forced to negotiate due to the distraction by all the unfounded rumours the media was reporting is kind of gross.
Obviously Pettersson isn’t a mathematician, but he knows the chances of the Canucks being this good and being able to bring back other core guys next year, especially if he takes $12 million per, are slim. So we’ll see what the cap hit ultimately is. It’s tough to put together a winner with $11 and 12 million hockey players on your team. Colorado hasn’t won since they resigned MacKinnon. In a salary cap world, elite players who take the most they can get know if there isn’t the success they want, that’s partly on them. Sure, the team signed the contract with them, but if you and your agent basically put out a number and refuse to go below that, you’re putting any failure of the team squarely on you.

Good grief. Pettersson has been great, will continue to be great, and (hopefully) will be great as a Canuck. I mean, if you WERE trading him, it would have to be for someone like Bedard, but who would trade a Bedard? Petterson is a top ten nhl player. No slight against former canucks, but we should thank our lucky stars that we have players of the caliber of Petterson on our team ✌️
Come on guys, on Lindholm, give him some time to adjust and gel with someone. One of the reasons Rutherford pulled the trigger early on him. You watch, he will produce.
Is Miller the 1C at 8 mil per year? Does paying Petey 12 or 13 to be a 2C make any sense? This smells like the Leafs 2.0. Also, how naive is it to think not signing wouldn't be a distraction? He is receiving bad advice.
Paterson made a good point about the agent. I definitely agree with his point and it makes complete sense. In the end, hopefully this issue is put to rest soon.

And the lesson here is : Never, ever, doubt the prognostication skill sets of one Mr. Frank 'The Chairman' Seravalli. Right on the Canucks being a playoff calibre team, and correct on the resigning of EP40. Until i find someone better, Frank, is THE Man. Nuff said.
