The New York Islanders are the definition of mid. They have plenty of good players but not many good enough to guide them to a Stanley Cup.
Does Lou Lamoriello need to retool this deadline? Will he even consider it? Frank Seravalli and Jason Gregor talked about the Islanders plans on The DFO Rundown.

As a long time Islanders fan I think its time too move on from ol Lou Ive said it for years ol Lou is out of touch with todays NHL
Isles do need a change. That change is getting rid of louzer. Running it back with the same old ass roster every year while throwing firsts away and neglecting the cap and failing to build a prospect system has set isles up for long time re-build. Plus a totally inept forward group. I pity the next gm who has to clean up louzer's mess. Isles have an nhl high 8 players signed to 7-8 year max deals. All signed by louzer. Bums like 18, 24, 27 signed long term. Think about that. Isles have no flexibility to get out of this mess or get better, younger, more skilled. The big fall is inevitable. The stubborn old fossil needs to go.
….they definitely made the playoffs last year….
