Detroit has been able to beat Boston during the regular season this year and they did beat Boston last year the wings always seem to find a way to lose to the Ottawa senators and the Boston Bruins somehow find a way to lose do the Detroit Red Wings the winds will win that series
The Red Wings do not want the Panthers or Rangers in the first round. Both teams have speed and a fairly aggressive forecheck, which has been a problem for Detroit all year. I think their best shot at advancing to Round 2 is actually playing Boston in Round 1. I think Detroit will have better defensive zone breakouts versus Boston and they've shown this year that they score well on the rush with a one-and-done play. They don't outshoot their opponents often, but they make their shots count when they get them.
The ideal for the Wings would be Boston in the First Round, Toronto in the Second Round, and hope that the third place Metro team (currently Philly) also pulls off the upsets and makes it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

I was saying trade holl/reimer (pick one) berggren and a first for markstrom. Maybe add another pick. A tandem of Lyon and markstrom would be amazing

As a wings fan I think Boston would win, but I could see us pushing it to 6 or even 7. We have matched up well against them this season. Then we will be harder to shut down in the playoffs offensively, we get goals from a lot of players.

As a Wings fan, I would love to see the Red Wings make this year's playoffs. even if they go out in the First Round, it doesn't matter too much to me. the fact they even made the playoffs would be good enough for me.
I feel conflicted, i dont want kane to get a cup with another team but i want him to get it because i want him to be happy. Maybe just not with the wings at least

Been a Wings fan since the Whalers moved and they have had some good years and some not so good years. If they punch their ticket to the dance then that will be good enough.
How can you not mention Christian Fischer? Guy has been an absolute workhorse. Can play up and down the lineup, center or wing. Has an offensive touch but has been used defensively. My favorite Wing. Just hope Stevie signs him to a long term deal. I called it last year when he signed that everyone was going to be surprised by him. He’s a guy you win with.
In the past few games, there have been moments of the Wings performing at a level that they have not come close to in the past few years. This is the best this team has looked in long time.
