Sam Reinhart, Panthers Postgame: Florida 4, Montreal Canadiens 3 (SO)

Florida Panthers forward Sam reinhart speaks after his team beat the visiting Montreal Canadiens 4-3 in a shootout on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024.

The Panthers have now won nine of the past 10 — and 11 of 12 against the Canadiens.

With the win, Florida now leads the NHL as it passed the idle Rangers.

Florida got a pair of goals from Sam Reinhart in the win as he becomes just the fourth player to hit the 40-goal mark in franchise history. He now has 41.

Sasha Barkov also scored with Anton Lundell winning it in R3 of the shootout.

Anthony Stolarz made 28 saves in his 100th NHL game.

The Panthers run of not allowing more than two goals stopped at 14 — but Florida is still 13-2-0 in its past 15.

Florida travels to Detroit to face the Red Wings on Saturday at 3 p.m. (ABC)

That kicks off a three-game road trip with stops in Detroit, New York City and Newark.
