  1. Yea ok O'Connor is better then smith and rakell. Us guys from NJ are built to do harder work. O'Connor is a 2nd liner.

  2. Malkin needs to move to winger, hes to slow for center..of he needs to retire..hes like ovechkin, hes done.hit a wall..

  3. Glad to see some youth stepping up. Hopefully Doc and Pusti can continue to progress. Rak with crosby works if jake goes and that's 5 million a year instead of 9-10. I prefer jake but it would open up money for better middle and bottom six players.

  4. Sorry. The 2nd line needs a new center. Geno is now a 3rd line center. His speed is gone, he makes bonehead passes, he takes stupid, thin-skinned penalties. We're watching the Penguins retirement tour. Enjoy.

  5. Malkin has dropped off huge this year. He’s no longer a 2nd line player. Doesn’t make sense to put him on the third line as that’s supposed to be a defensive shutdown line. Maybe 4th liner. But for 6 million that’s not worth it. I wish we could just part ways with him at this point. A legit 2nd line center would make this team so much better

  6. Here’s something I haven’t heard at all regarding older Russian stars slumping: The war in Ukraine

It’s definitely got to have some impact on Ovi and Geno. They both have kids and I’m sure them and their families have had someone they love die on either side.

Geno has looked over-it since the beginning of the season. I don’t blame him. His team has been hanging on by a thread for a couple years now and I’m sure he’d rather be spending time with his wife and kids. He’s mentioned in the past that they live outside the Miami area during the season and that he misses them.

He’s also not allowed to criticize the war without someone he knows getting poisoned.

I’d be depressed and distracted too

  7. Imagine how difficult it is to play with Geno now. Lazy, slow, passes are ahead, in your skates, or straight on the tape of an opponent IN OPEN ICE.

  8. I'm sorry but I have to disagree. Maybe he's found his linemates agreed but this isn't a good 2nd line. The unfortunate reality is this line is better suited in the bottom 6 then the Top 6. The pens need an entire new second line next year. Malkins last two years are gonna be like Jeff Carter's last two years.

No more finding wingers for Malkin. Malkin isn't what he was. he's a bottom 6 guy now and can be a really good one. no building a second line around a 38 year old
