First they got fleeced in the Toffoli, then Zadorov, then they got āCONNEDā into taking Kuzmenko for Lindholm, now they got double āCONNEDā for accepting a 2nd rounder (which is basically a 3rd since Dallas is near the top of the standings) for Tanev.

Hanifin seems like a pretty cool customer and has continued to play well even though he's been under the trade rumors all season, so what they get for him should be pretty good. I wouldn't expect much from what they got in return for Tanev, but you never know. They aren't losing anything even if what they got back never turns into anything.

Tanev simply isn't worth a 1st round pick, even if it's the 32nd pick in the draft. Glad to see he didn't go for one, because it would set a terrible bar for d-men going forward.
