I might be the only person willing to admit he’s my all time favorite Capital. I hope he gets things straightened out. Thanks for everything birdman ❤️

His goal to finish off Pittsburgh will be burned in my brain forever

There’s a shocking lack of empathy for the guy in this sub. He’s a person who’s clearly been having a hard time with life. A lot of people around here have some growing up to do.

Personally, I chose to focus on the good times.

I love Kuzy. His future watch auto is one of the first signed cards I actually sought out to buy for my collection. I’m going miss the guy no doubt about it

Was so instrumental on that cup run. He and Ovie just couldn’t be stopped.

I will forever love him for what he gave us

I like birdman. I still like birdman. Is the team better off without birdman? Probably. But I still like him and wont forget him. Maybe he’ll come back again one day ❤️

  6. This sounds terrible but I don’t want to see him playing for another team

  7. MetalMan1973

Wish him the best. We don’t raise the cup without him

I’m right there with ya mate. Fuck all the Kuzy haters in this fan base.

My favorite Cap too. Wishing him good health and many more Cups.

Almost as hard as having to say goodbye to Holtby. Like yeah, statically it had to happen but these guys were our heroes.

I hope he finds peace and happiness wherever he ends up, whether that’s with the AHL for a bit and then back with the Caps (like Samsonov w/ the Leafs back in January) or on a different team. I’ll be rooting for him ❤️

Not my fave but not too far off either. Will be much missed.

This guy absolutely could have been given 2018 Conn Smythe. Hope the club treats him appropriately. He’s brought so much joy to this franchise.

No I love him. When he’s good he’s good but he was going through shit and at the end of the day he’s just a person.

He’s absolutely one of my favorites. I remember being excited to years when we drafted him and waiting for him to make the jump. I remember being at a game when the announcement came that he had signed his contract with us.

I’ve always felt and will continue to that his concussion early in the 2019 season played a part in his decline. His own decisions played a major role of course, but his production seemed to drop after that hit.

  19. For a few years, he was one of the best players in the league. He could turn it on and completely take over a game. Unfortunately some people have demons they have to battle. I just hope he finds life easier in a different spot. Will always have a soft spot in my heart for him and what he did for the team and this city in the cup run.

I think as we get further away, everything will calm down and it’ll be easier to look back on the best moments of his career.

That being said, for me, no one can top Holtby.

  21. MetalMan1973

There was nobody like him in those shoot outs. Those 20+ moves never ceased to amaze ❤️

  22. Such a talented player. It was frustrating watching him decline after the amazing cup run but he will always be one of the most electric player to play for the caps. Hope he can get it going again, sad to see him leave the Caps.

Being put on waivers has nothing to do with off-ice issues.

My five year old (at the time) and I met him at the beginning of the 2017-18 Cup year and he was very generous with his time. We don’t sniff the Cup that season without the Birdman.
