Paul Watson recorded 44 points (14-18 FG, 9-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), a rebound and a steal across 41 minutes in Thursday’s 131-126 G League win over South Bay.
Watson had one of the best games of his career as a pro, missing just four of his 18 shots from the field and single-handedly carrying Austin to the win here. Needless to say, this 44-point outing was a season-high mark for Watson. He’s now averaging 14.6 points per game on the season, however, so this performance was an outlier, and it doesn’t seem as if he’ll be able to sustain those scoring figures over a sustained stretch.
