I stayed up with vibrant hope after all the team interviews that they’d put forward their best. That didn’t happen. We played worse than an AHL team tonight- truly no clue what’s going on w the Hughes brothers and they’re young sure, and I can give Luke the fact that it’s his rookie year but jack has been in by he league four years. Let’s pull ourselves together and at least pretend we care about the playoffs rn 😭
Healthy D and a goalie in the off-season and next season will be a 180 from this one, which was a 180 from the last, which was a 180 from the past 5.

Please don’t make any trades this year to attempt to get in the playoffs. I would rather they don’t make it vs getting schooled bad in the first round. Nothing has got consistently better this year. Same errors are happening every game. Nothing has changed.

We aren’t going to get the wins this season, so it’s time to at least get some useful information. New coaches, new strategies — whatever it takes to get some data that could be useful next year. An outside coach with no pre-conceived notions about our players would be nice, forces everyone to compete for their roles again. Let’s see who actually does.
Trade off whatever is not seen as useful going forward. Maybe call up some young guys, I don’t know. Apologies to whatever goalies get left out to dry.
If players get upset about quitting with 20 games left, so be it. See who is mature enough to handle being told ‘No, you didn’t earn a shot at it this year.’

Should’ve gotten Hellebuyck last year or Markstrom this year before Calgary backed out. Fitz wanted to lowball them and have them eat Markstoms salary knowing full well this team needed a goalie since October

Fire Lindy. Trade Toffoli, Miller, Smith. Wait until the summer to acquire a goalie. It’ll set us up for next season and we could still lowkey sneak into a playoff spot
We need to fire Lindy and bring in a revolutionary that’s willing to take risks. I’m talking something like putting a walrus in net. That looked moderately successful based on the commercial I just watched.
This is what a losing culture looks and feels like.
There is no fire to this team and I bet every team that sees us on the calendar is happy to have a night off they push us around for 60 minutes and coast to a win.

Sell at the deadline
At this point, keeping Ruff around — and the whole coaching staff for that matter, save for Sarge — is actively walking this team backwards. No accountability whatsoever. No compete. No discipline. The worst thing you can teach a young team is that what’s going on right now is acceptable. Yet, here we are.
Fire Fitzy. Other organizations make mid season moves all the time. Edmonton did. The Kings did too. organizations are also a try and improve their head coaches. The Rangers did, despite making the playoffs three years in a row, including a conference finals. Nashville got rid of their coach, despite a huge amount of success. Teams make coaching changes all the time for much less. Fitzgerald refuses to to do anything. I and so for that, I have moved on from fire Lindy to fire Fitzgerald.
I appreciate how Sportsnet completely ignored the 1st goal of the game (and the Devils) in the highlight reel. The latter being understandable. But man, I hate how you can bury footage because *ReAsOnS*.
My girlfriend who is not into hockey at all, has offered her chanting expertise for Tuesday. So far she’s given me:

I get the whole fire Lindy thing, but at some point, when are these players, who are making millions of dollars gonna step up and show some pride in what they do
Now it’s becoming Fire Fitzy. This organization is a complete mess. Poverty franchise that unfortunately I don’t think wins another cup until ownership is changed. Complete disfunction from the top down.

I’m actually glad the losses came now and we don’t give the GM false hope. This makes it clear the plan of action should be to sell and prep for next season.
It really fucking blows how much Edmonton turned their season and we just continued to get worse…
It’s important to note the depth we lost. Some of the depth was traded in pursuit of getting better. But overall we lost Severson, Graves, Wood, Zetterlund, Tatar, and Sharongovich. And Meier / Toffoli are just not enough to make up 2 30 point guys and 2 40 point guys. I understand letting Graves and sevo walk. I just wish we either kept one or found a better stop gap defenseman than Colin miller. Our goaltending should not be this bad. It has to be a systems issue or a goalie coach issue. 3 guys this season aren’t able to play league average consistently? My fear right now is spending cap and assets on a great goalie just for him to come here and do the same numbers our 3 are doing now.
