Big Cat is now an average goalie. Thats not the issue as much as the team (for years) hung him out to dry and he was able to bail them out …he no longer can.

One of those instances where if vasy had remained solid they would’ve won. Low scoring game… team played decent… then buffalo gets a pp goal late in the game that could’ve been saved. Idk if its mental or what but vas needs to get back to himself. Maybe trot out JJ more often to really light a fire under vasy. JJ looked good his last outing. Need to go into this little break with a W.

Disagree with Vasy. He was hurt last year had surgery no training camp. Rush backed to help lightning cause we don’t have a good back up. Over worked after surgery. Defense is non existent. Pay attention when the backup has a good game. The team shuts things down.
Great defense makes a good goalie look great. Bad defense makes a great goalie look bad. Look it up though history of the game
Hedman, stamkos point really the core have really focused on offense this year and there lack of defense prep pre season to present has shown defense has been really lacking. I'm sure they had the mind concept that where losing some core guys we gotta step up our offense play. But man they all have been so bad on D

I don't know much about the prep for the season. How much was lost for Vassi due to that injury and missing the prep-time and first couple dozen games? Need some real defense, the defensive plan for years has been "try to block it but just let vassi take care of things". This game was a real downer because like you said "can't even beat the bad teams" this was one as you said should be an expected beat. This has been a downer season. It's been frustrating, I noticed they're constantly getting more "high danger chances" than the other teams but still losing. To buff some of the good, Kucherov imo is genuinely the best player in the NHL right now and Hagel has become a pillar for the team.
youre spot on. JBB cant trade assets to load up at the deadline its just not worth it. im the biggest stamkos fan ever and im almost at the point that i want them to sell him at the deadline lol
