We have never been good at matinee games since I’ve been watching them (30 years), and the Coyotes just came off a huge win that broke a 14 game losing streak. They had all the momentum coming into this game.

I get wanting the team to make a playoff push, but realistically even if we *did* squeak into the postseason, it would be a very short appearance.
The thing we need to do now is sell. Get rid of the pending UFAs and maximize our returns for them. Let the kids in Hershey get some valuable NHL ice time and see how the chips fall. We could still scrape into the playoffs after that, but the postseason shouldn’t be our priority going into the trade deadline.

Yup, it’s baseball season boys. Trade everyone that has any worth.

We are the third worst offensive team in the league. Nobody with a brain cell should’ve thought that’s playoff worthy but at the same time we aren’t the Sharks or Blackhawk’s

We are objectively not a good team. Not terrible, but not a playoff team. Which is fine. It is what it js.
This sub is so weird, it’s like you’re not allowed to criticize the team or a player and if you do you’re a hater or a bad fan.
The good news is that we’ll be shedding a ton of cap space in the next couple of years and we draft and develop very well.

We have been better but not great. Goal differential and goals scored are bad, and the upcoming schedule is brutal. 9 of our next 13 are against teams in playoff spots. The odds of getting into the playoffs are low, and even if they do it’s probably one and done. The fact that they’ve straddled that line for the last few weeks (maybe we get in! followed by a bad loss, followed by a good win!) made this murky.
At this point, I’m on board with deals for any of the unrestricted free agents, and I’m coming to grips with deals for others if they can get a good return (Dowd, Lindgren, Jensen, TvR). I really hope they make one more playoff run with Ovechkin, though.
