As soon as I saw him take the puck, I started screaming he's going to do it again, Kane"s gonna score again, he scores!!! I practically jumped through the roof. 2nd game in a row. That's one of the greatest moments in sports that I've ever seen. Even the Chicago players applauded. I thought they were done when Larkin pooped out.
I know it’s not the same, but it felt like iterations of Tom Brady going to Tampa and playing New England for the first time back in 2020. Then ultimately winning the Super Bowl later that year as a side note.

It was a bitter sweet moment. Bitter because it’s the wings but sweet bc it’s Kaner. But at the end of the day at least he won’t be remembered with Redwings but with the hawks

This is reminiscent of when Sundin came back to Toronto and won it in a shootout lol I was there – and we lost (leafs) but we all cheered like maniacs when Sundin scored for the Canucks to win it. Weird but necessary

Love these homecoming games! I was at the Lafleur game when he came back to Mtl. In a Rangers uni. I think we won 5-2 but Lafleur got both Rangers goals. We yelled Guy-Guy-Guy when he had the puck. Probably the only time in history we rooted for an opposing player in our building! Congrats Kaney and a treat for Chicago and Detroit fans!
