  1. Finally someone brought the Wood 🪵 on a legit highlight for this game with Ken and Mickey with the call 🎙

  2. Kane's crowd reaction is reminiscent of Howe's ovation at the All Star Game in 1980 – not as long – but every bit as genuine. You couldn't have scripted this game any better. Thanks for including that section awood.

  3. Sadly Reimer's performance is getting kinda ignored……..if not for him the Wings would've been blown out. I respect what Kane has done and is doing, but this season is becoming too much about him. I get it tonight but pretty much every game Bally has a feature on him. There's other players who are equally important.

  4. Thanks, Chicago, for being a perfect host for our Chelli and Kaner, putting up a good fight and giving us 2 points.

  5. Reimer is definitely the unsung hero of our season so far. Respect.
This is a deep team, learning how to win together and as they do the goalie is keeping victory within reach.

  6. Hard to believe Chelios was in Detroit the longest of any team, 10 years, from 37 to 47
We need to lock Kane up too.

  7. I couldn't tell what the fans were chanting after the Kane tribute? I know it was directed against Detroit. Anybody know what they were chanting?

  8. Man, he was a thorn in my side for a long time. This is awesome to see and it’s wild he has this night in a wings uniform. You couldn’t make it up.

  9. What makes some people so special when they are exceptionally good at what they do is that sometimes you don't even notice that they are even there.
At the honor ceremony for Patrick Kane, for example,
both, Ken and Mickey, were as quiet as a mouse and it was only when one of them cleared his throat at the end that I realized that I wasn't even live in the arena.
Sometimes it's trivial things that can be special and for a short moment I felt I was there and can experience it in person.

Without wanting to bash anyone, I'm sure some other commentators would have rambled on about how emotional it all is and how they need to shed a tear, totally destroying the moment!
    – who cares!

I hope that Ken and Mickey get some kind of recognition for their "lifetime achievement" at some point.
Because it's not just the players on the ice, the coaches on the bench, the entire staff behind the team, but especially the commentators who plant the emotions in our heads.
Without them the whole thing would only be half as beautiful and I can't imagine the Red Wings without Ken and Mickey, they're so close to the Wings for me!

  10. What a treat for Chicago hockey fans. Two storied hockey teams, sister cities, celebrate two fantastic players. What a night to remember. Thank you, boyz, for a glorious tribute. "Thank you!!"

  11. We appreciate you awood for providing coverage from the best broadcasting duo in the league. ❤ Amazing call by Ken and Mick. What a game.

  12. Man, that Kane tribute had me in tears. Mickey soaking it in and getting choked up made it all the more special. That is the pinnacle of athletic achievement, and a story book ending. Respect to our great rivals in Chicago, but Detroit wins the day. Chelios had his cups in Detroit, and Kane steals the show in the Winged Wheel on his retirement night.
