The Detroit Red Wings faced the stars of the Atlantic Saturday afternoon, and couldn’t prove up to the task. The Florida Panthers with their mix of elite talent and ‘in your face’ physicality shook Detroit off their game, eventually cruising to a 4-0 victory over the Red Wings. But it wasn’t alway that way. The Red Wings went blow for blow with the Cats for the first 30 minutes, and had multiple ‘grade A’ opportunities they failed to convert on. It was a game of ‘what-ifs’. As much as I hate blaming refs, they were as much a facotor in this game as well, not that Detroit special teams did much when they were given the chance though. On to Colorado. #LGRW

If the Wings continue this path of losing multiple games in a row, Wings' management may as well begin to bring up their prodigal draft picks. Hate to say it, but once the Wings kept getting overconfident with their place in the Wild Card run and getting close to third place, they didn't do what was necessary to stop the Islanders or the Panthers from kicking them to the curb. The Wings need to practice humility and look to win every game regardless of their place in the run for the playoffs. The Wings beat the Panthers the last time. The Wings beat themselves this time. Every game should be played like a playoff game with the urgency to get at least 1 point, but hopefully 2 points, in every game. These losses will eliminate them from the ppl playoffs.

The Wings are not a playoff team! They should be sellers at the trade deadline! Stop trying to build a playoff team and build a cup contender!

The wings didn't play well against Florida, BUT that was one of the most poorly officiated games I've seen in a while. How did we ALWAYS get the extra?
The only thing worse than watching this game was listening to the broadcast team salivate over everything Florida did the whole game. Steve Levy was even trying to discredit the Wings during the pregame, but Subban, and Messier had to shut him down. It happens every time the Wings play on ESPN. I swear I thought Ray Ferraro was going to try and kiss Tkachuk when he was fixing his helmet right in front of him.

If the wings play 500 hockey until the end, they still might get in.
It is fine. You are not gonna win every game.
And this team is not a contender yet. More like a 1 round playoffs team. Give them a bit more time.
This game proves that if they do make the playoffs they won't be there very long.
