Paul Maurice, Panthers Pregame: Florida at New York Rangers

Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice speaks before his team plays the host New York Rangers on Monday, March 4, 2024.

The Panthers have now won 10 of their past 11 games after beating the Red Wings 4-0 in Detroit on Saturday.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 21 saves for his fourth shutout of the season — and second in Detroit.

Florida got second period goals from Brandon Montour and Sam Reinhart; Evan Rodrigues and Carter Verhaeghe scored in the third.

The Panthers remain atop the NHL standings with the win; New York is two points back.

That is the second game of the three-game road trip; Florida plays the Devils on Tuesday.

  1. Rangers fan here. You guys seem to take a LOT of penalties, you prob don't want to do that tonight. I'm thinking this might get a little ugly…actually I'm hoping it does. This could be a preview of The Conference Finals. The Panthers are prob a better team right now, but we will get a 1st line RW soon and then we will have the edge. LGR!!!

  2. NYR fan. I love Maurice. The Panthers are a great , abrasive, talented squad, and a solid tandem in net. This game scares the bejesus out of me.

  3. I’m a Rangers fan that lives in Winnipeg (don’t ask haha:). Maurice was a great coach here for a long time. Florida is lucky to have him. I echo comments already made……the special teams may tell the story in this game tonight
