Call me a homer, but Dallas fumbled this draft with drafting Honka. He never lived up to his potential and it looks extremely bad when the next 6 players are superstars in the NHL. Also Dallas overall had a terrible draft overall

  2. mattttl1028

Florida and Buffalo… they passed up on Draisaitl he put up 125+ points last season

  3. Scavenger908

Islanders for drafting Michael Dal Colle and Josh Ho-Sang

  4. tenderluvin

Any of these other guys get brought up on rape/assault charges and relegated to playing in Europe? No? Vancouver 100%.

  5. EvenConversation9730

Id say the islanders but they got Sorokin

  6. I mean the answer is Anaheim. Nick Richie over Larkin, Tuch and Pasta, not to mention 5 other players who are at least competent 3rd liners.

Vancouver in the 1st round for sure. I have no problems with the 2nd round, however.

  8. ViolinistMean199

Well the blues drafted walman who is now playing In Detroit. So maybe the blues but really anyone who skipped on pasta and Leon

  9. NitroCircus399-2

Vancouver. Jesus. Not just whiffing with Virtanen, but passing up on Pastrnak, who went one pick after to their greatest enemy ever in Boston

This was during the baffling time as a Canes fan where we were like “we drafted ANOTHER fucking defencemen?!”

The Flames for taking Mason McDonald over Thatcher Demko. I still remember being incredibly pissed at that choice because it was pretty obvious Demko was going to be a really good NHL goalie.

San Jose, only one player drafted is still playing in North America, and he’s in the ECHL. Complete swing and a miss all around.

  13. Car-Hockey2006

Haydn Fleury one pick before Nylander…🫤

    Tampa Baaa….

    (Brayden Point at #79)

    …ay did alright.

The 24 teams who let Boston pick Pastrnak at 25th. Although Edmonton getting Draisaitl at 3rd might be the only team who didn’t fumble the draft, which is an uncomfortable thing for me to say since the Oilers have a history of fumbling their draft.

As a Canucks fan I can’t even discuss this draft, demko late is the only saving grace

  17. Toronto. According to Don Cherry, they were idiots for picking Nylander over Ritchie

  18. JeremyHoekick

Toews and Larkin dropping as far as they did is nuts, goalies are crazy hard to predict so they all get a pass even though Sorokin and Shesterkin are later picks

Buffalo, easily. They drafted Reinhart and soured him with piss poor management and a lack of a contract, so he left. The other 3 players on this list they drafted have never even sniffed the NHL. Pretty impressive for having 4 picks in the first 2 rounds.

BUF – Took Reinhart over Draisaitl.

CAR – Took Haydn Fleury over Nylander, Ehlers, Fiala, Larkin, who all went immediately after.

PIT – Went with Kasperi Kapanen with Pastrnak on the board. Crosby and Malkin with Pastrnak 🤯

MTL – Scherbak and Lernout. Point went a few picks after Lernout – 3rd round, but for a team that’s needed a top C forever, this is a massive L.

We drafted Connor Bleackley.. so yeah.. dude wouldn’t sign, and went on to sing the blues.

Edit: I learned, he never even got an offer.. pretty sure that is way worse.
