You SERIOUSLY can’t even make it up

What a scene in Chicago last night! On the night Chris Chelios got his #7 up in the rafters, he rolled into the ceremony with his Cadillac by the way, what a G! There were legends like Wayne Gretzky all over the place but as if that wasn’t enough, it was also the night one of if not the best Blackhawks made his return to the United Center in Patrick Kane. They welcomed him with one of the longest standing O’s you’ll see, it really was something else. Even Chicago born Cindy Crawford made a centre ice shot like it was nothing and the new golden boy Connor Bedard laid a hit on Kane. Im telling you, the story lines were everywhere. It couldn’t have been better for Chicago…well then again, maybe it could have. BUT they don’t call him the heartbreaker for no reason! Sit back and enjoy as I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. This is called true sportsmanship. not it only did Kane get a long standing O, he got as much cheering at the end after Kane beat the Hawks. This was all against a former Red Wing goalie.

    Amazing

  2. Very nice video – thanks for sharing. What a night in Chicago, seeing both Mr. Chelios being honored and Kane making that score. I've been a Red Wings fan since 1989 when a couple Navy buddies introduced me to them and this video reminds me of why I still watch them.

  3. As a Hawks fan I literally watched that last play unfold and kept saying, "of course it's Kaner" with a big ol' smile on my face.

  4. I was at that game, the best I’ve ever been to and it will probably be for the rest of my life. Unbelievable.

  5. It was all a setup kane bk im chicago all alone took the pass on breakaway and the goaile didnt even attempet to block it come on ppl it was all a setup for kane…and if u dnt beleive that then u need your head examiened A.SA.P

  6. i was so sad i wasn't there to see this game (i was too busy trying to get my stuff ready for a lightning game) but this is just biblical. even though i love my bolts, my father loves his hawks. a great game that we could only watch on tv, and we would have reacted the same way the fans did at our beloved united center.

  7. I watched the game from way down here in deep south Texas along the Mexican border. What a great game! Kane has my respect and admiration, as well as Chelios, as I am a Wings fan. Super game, Super respect. Chicago is my second team.

  8. I loved when the tribute to Kaner was over the Chicago fans went straight back into "Detroit Sucks" Chants. Such a great rivarly.

  9. Great to see. I’m a hardcore Blues fan but I respect greatness. Chelios getting his number sent up and then Kane getting his flowers and to top it off he gets the OT breakaway winner? Epic stuff right there. Well deserved. Great reception from the crowd. That’s a great night to be a Hawks fan.

  10. 0:07 Wait, It's John McGinley? Dr. Cox from Scrubs series, who wore #24 Red Wings Chris Chelios shirt and tells a story about why Detroit Red Wings is the best team ever.

  11. The Hawks fans were spectacular!! Truly, brought me to tears. Not only the standing ovation. but when Kane got the goal, the fans were standing and cheering. Love seeing these moments ❤

  12. Class through and through. I was there when Justin Verlander made his first visit back to Detroit and while it was very cool, it was nothing like this. As has been said, you can't make this stuff up.

  13. THATS HOCKEY BABY! He's unbelievable, he's cherry picking at the blue line. Waiting for the turnover gets the outlet pass and just buries it. He should have always wore a BLACKHAWKS Jersey. They should have put him on the shelf and let him get healthy and finish his career here.
Listen to that crowd you don't let a guy like that go!

  14. I would thank Chicago for Kane. But they had nothing to do with it.
That said, I still believe their fans to be the most classless in all of sports.

  15. This is probably one of my favorite aspects of hockey. We love to give our favorite players their flowers, even when they leave our favorite teams.

  16. The LONGEST Ovation I’ve ever seen was for Maurice Richard when The Montreal Forum was closing, check it out. Also check out Gordie Howe’s ovation when he returned back to Detroit for the NHL All Star game (I forget the year). Lane’s ovation was mere minutes compared to those two legends.
Check ‘em out and get back to me with your thoughts.

  17. By stats Kane is currently behind Mike Modano for the best American born player. But I admit those extra 2 rings might make a difference. 😬

  18. No matter what jersey he wears Kane will always be loved by Chicago. Him and Towes lead us out of the dark times where we couldn't even watch a home game on tv thanks to Dollar Bill Wirtz and not even want to go to games due to how bad the team was.

  19. As a Detroit fan, it wouldn't be right without the "Detroit Sucks" chant right after they gave it up for Kane lol

Also, John C Mcginley next to Gretzky in the box during Chelios's ceremony!

  20. 4:21 I started skating when I was 2, played hockey through Juniors. I have to say that besides Pavel Datsyuk, I have never seen someone make a shot like this look so effortless. It’s amazing. He is an amazing player.

  21. Of course you could make it up. Lots of lovely stories about dragons and unicorns and all sorts are made up.

  22. One of the greatest sequence of events in sports history. I don’t think I’m over stating it!
