the only way karlsson back to ottawa would be to send chabot the other way
As a Pens fan I would love to get rid of Karlsson, he absolutely doesn't fit this team and hasn't been what was expected of him. I wouldn't mind ditching Smith as well, dead weight. We need more physicality and a defense that's willing to do the job.
I can really see Pitt moving out Karlsson btw now and the draft to get younger, and the scenario does make some sense for both clubs. But I REALLY don't think the Sens would move Norris….at least not this year.
Honestly, at this rate, as much as I like Karl, you're not getting Cychrun and Norris plus for him. They're two young stars and you'd really be rolling the dice in hope to get decent production for the rest of Karlsson's contract. It also doesn't move the needle in the room and after the 2018 fiasco I think you'll find a lot of Sens fans are actually weary of adding his ego back, no matter how good he was in his prime.

If Dorion was still in charge, I totally see this deal happening. PD didn‘t give a crap about fit, he just went for names. Ottawa doesn‘t need another puck-moving D. They need a big righty that‘s a stay-at-home D. Plus, the cap. For me, not gonna happen due to the bad fit
Its clear karlson needs to be the best player on the team for him to really produce or take control of the game…This being said WSH,ANA are the only teams i can think of for him…he wants to play on a winning team so he in a big catch 22.

Josh Norris for Erik Karlsson? Staios would be fired on the spot. Norris is a young potential 1C and Karlsson is old and 2 years removed from his contract being a total anchor. There’s no way this happens
Karlsson doesn't fit this Sens team. Great guy and an absolute legend in Ottawa, but he's on the back end of his career and Staios would be crazy to make this trade.
Dubas already said Karlsson is part of the core he wasnt gonna trade him
now way Karlsson plays in ottawa ever again.
At this stage in his career EK would and should be looking at a contender.

As Penguins fan i really hope EK is traded. I DID NOT see the reason for needing a player like him because the Penguins needs and holes to fill were not a player like EK. I also had a feeling that this would not help us make the playoffs. There were and continue to be too many other needs for this team that we’re not addressed by Dubas.
A selfish reason to see the Bruins to move one of their goalies. This move would put Brandon Bussi into the NHL. Brandon is a great guy who played for the same organization I coached for.
Who in there right Ming would pay Saros 9 million a year,playing with fire there!!!
